Florida teens seen dumping trash into ocean turn themselves in

Two teens who were seen on a viral video dumping trash into the ocean off the coast of Florida have turned themselves in. Probably the "parent" who said, "My teen is a minor, no comment." That sounds like a comment that might come from the father of a privileged teen who they most likely won't be help to any accountability. That was so typical in the small farming community I grew up in.

I watched Carnival Cruise Lines dump bags and bags of trash into the Atlantic Ocean one night around 3am when I was on a cruise in the late 80’s/early 90’s. I’ll never cruise with them again because of it.

These teens don't deserve to go to jail for this, but they can still be punished seriously enough in some way and be made an example of at the same time.

We did a lot of dumb things as teens. But, we were never as brazen about it. Not sure if it's worse than in the past.

No, instant communication just spreads the word faster and farther so it look worse. These kids are just caught between "young azzhole teens" and "young adults." They did turn themselves in, after all...

Yeah but when you were a teen, trash was regularly disposed of in the ocean as a best practice, so nobody back then would have cared about the teen’s behavior.

It's pure arrogance. From teenagers. Shame on their parents for allowing them to be this way. I was not a perfect parent but my son would NEVER have been so disrespectful. Not to laws, not to the ocean, not to the planet. Really tired of arrogant pipsqueaks.
