glad your making videos, been a while...I think you covered all the beaches we fish...Like you, I remember, not too many years ago, fishing blind creek...it was a great pompano beach. Very popular in the winter. A nudist beach now, but it really doesn't matter, its pretty much sanded in...

Thanks Cape, Hope you are well. I try to create videos that can help Surf Fisherman. I am hesitant to just keep pumping out videos with worthless content. I think I have most of the bases covered. Making Gear, Fishing Tips, harvesting Sand Fleas and Fishing Locations. I remember my Dad telling me that when he was just starting out, some surf fishermen he would meet were very stingy with sharing info. His response to me would be... "There is nothing new under the Sun" Ecclesiastes 1:9

Thank you for such a great video. I’m new to Florida, and while there’s plenty of places to fish; parking can be a challenge. This really narrows down some great alternatives.

I did a report on the MYFWC Commercial landings site and Pompano pounds for Martin and St Lucie County are down approximately 55 to 60 percent compared to 2021. March and April are huge months though.. Don't give up. They will just show up unannounced.

Caught my first pompano and even limited out at Bonsteel back in April. Love that beach for surf fishing! Hate that I live north in Ponte Vedra! 🤣

I 'm here in Atlantic Beach one of the Beaches of Jacksonville Fl, I fish from Fenandina Beach , Huguenot Park, Seminole Beach aka Mayport Naval Station, Manhattan Beach aka Hanna Park, Atlantic Beach , Neptune Beach, Jacksonville Beach , from there I start to move South, try to follow the run down south in Fall all the way to Crescent Beach, Matanzas Inlet, and back wards to North in Spring, sometimes I venture all the way to Ormond, Daytona and even New Smyrna but is hit and miss for me when I go there some times is way too windy and algaes and debris, sometimes is awesome fishing. Also I want to mention I have been lucky in Seminole Beach, Mayport Naval Station with pompanos ugly cousin Palometa or long fin Pompano , they bite really in frenzy when a Hurricane is approaching and is kind rough in the Surf.

It's Funny how secretive some fisherman are about there fishing spots.. the truth is.. that the fish are on the move, and it takes legwork to succeed daily.

I fish some of those beaches you mentioned. Didn't know if you did like on the beach teachings or what not. Some guys in jax do. If I see you one day I'll just come over and ask abunch of questions! 😀

Savage, September through November are the best months to harvest Sand Fleas. Any Beach South of the Ft. Pierce Jetty has given me the best luck. Little Mud, and Blue Heron Beach has the coarsest sand and that produces more fleas in my opinion. Hey Jim, have you had any trouble with landings not showing on FWC’s CLS system? Mine shows “no landing’s for this license” and I’ve watched the fish markets input them…thanks!

Jr, I’d talk to the office at fish house and see if they are inputting your license correctly in the system.

I hit 6 beaches between ft peirce and juno this weekend too much slime

Brownie, are actual beach area’s artificial maintained. Which will have less run outs.So going north or south to find the run outs ,be better?

Alois, I’ve never really heard of any information on those effects, so I cannot speak to it. In my opinion I think mother nature can change a beach in one year if there are storms.

Are there sandfleas on any of these beaches? There have been none all winter in the Indialantic area where I fish. Do you know why sandfleas are so hard to come by this year in many areas? Is this normal? I have caught only a fraction of the number of pompano this year as compared to past years. A better pompano fisherman than myself told me that because there were no sandfleas in this area, the pompano stayed off shore when they migrated south. Are your pompano catching numbers down this year?

Chuck, I’ve had the best luck getting sand fleas at blue heron in the fall. Anything past December and they are slim pickings. That’s why it’s important to harvest them when you can and cook and freeze them for later use. Always bring a rake to the beach. Little Mud can produce some too.
