A nice selection of Links here. The No USA 5* that is held up and described as 'refaced beautifully', may play great but the refacer has cut through the brass and into the black bite plate. I've owned nice playing refaced Links by BP and TK that were cut through to the bite plate in this way, their early work perhaps, but the blanks might have been worked or damaged already? Bending the tip open and cutting less brass from the baffle avoids this problem of opening up tips, but bending can change how the pieces sound.

I love stuff like this. I've had a go myself but I waffle on a bit and always wish Id pointed something else out 2 or 3 times in the video so never bother with them in the end. But back to your video there are 2 or 3 more useful measurements that contribute to 'link magic' and bot are less detectable to the eye. 1 is the floor to table height at the back of the window, 2 is the thickness of the table, 3 is the width at the tip rail between the side rails. the smaller *1 & 2 are the more core you have to work with accompanying the baffle. I can't remember the real contribution of *3 but it's more subjective in preference than something definitive like the other 2.

Good stuff! I stumbled on this video and found it very informative. It would've been nice if you would have play tested each mp to show what they sound like.

I did but unfortunately the subtleties of mics and saxophone escape me. I barely understand voiceover mics, let alone clarinet, let alone saxophone. In the future I will have some examples of these!
