Florida Island Hopping and Limiting Out in a Unique Way [ Catch & Cook]

Ойын-сауық

fun day on the inshore waters of Florida. Catching a limit and bringing home dinner for the family! The way we caught the limit was also extremely interesting. Felt great to be back on the water.

Trout like that were super common up there years ago… then water quality went to crap and now it’s rare to find ‘em. The bottom is just sand, brown muck or algae, it used to beautiful thick green grass with nice potholes mixed in. Head north from the ramp and check out the east side docks for Snook next time. If you want Snapper the canals are normally loaded with them too.

After looking at the first island, I began to have my suspicion about where you were at. But that area with the channel between the 2 jetties solidified it. I grew up there fishing the daylights out of that place until I graduated from college and went into the USAF in 1994. I was last there in 2006…. Glad to see it on your video!

You arent gonna believe it but 3 weeks ago I was down in Captiva and caught a limit of Grovers 3 days in a row ALL on artificials. Mostly DOA or Slam Shady’s but they were huge. 16.5” was the biggest but plenty of 12,13,14,15’s too! Was eating good for days!😎

I bought the same lure couple of months ago. Literally at the first cost something bit off the tail and after that, it was good for nothing. I’m not saying it’s not great lure but to be ready that it attracts many kind of fish that you can lose it so quickly like I did and it’s not cheap at all

Big time wade fisher on the Texas coast and was wondering if I sent you some broken back corkies (which are a pretty much legendary down here) if you’d make a video in the winter time of you fishing with them. I’d love to see some big Florida trout and more importantly big snook caught on them. LMK and I’ll send ya a few from my collection!
