We appreciate you putting your Ego aside to post this video. There are lessons to be learned, had it not been for your experience you could have easily lost your vessel and perhaps your life. Hopefully, others will learn from your mistake, which by the way we all make'em. Glad you are OK!

People I know talk about it all the time, especially when it comes to bottom fishing east coast of Florida. The real problem nobody talks about is the bureaucracy that's destroying everything about our fishing in Florida.

Try pulsing the rig next time…. steady retrieve , rip, rip… steady retrieve … repeat! With a high gear ratio reel you can just use the reel for the action or just give the rig a couple of twitches similar to a jerk bait. High speed 7:1 would be perfect for either applications. Predatory fish get very triggered when they their prospective food darts away. Hope this tip helps 🏄🏼‍♂️🎣🤙🏻

Hot tip, never let a wave catch up to the back of your boat. I just speed as needed get on the back of one if possible speed up if in between. Letting one overtake the back of your boat or coming over the top of another can be an instant sink

Yeah a 20”+ rainbow is a trophy pretty much anywhere! A brown that size is also considered a trophy! Fishing small streams by fly in the upper Midwest for these specimens is an art in itself. Much less about the fight(strength-wise), mainly about the casting and matching the hatch.

Try a jet ski. If you should flip it you can easily right it...can't do that with any boat.

🤣 its all good… here is couple of tips that may help, try driving and maintaining on the back of wave and enter/exit the inlet hugging the south side. When in doubt throw that flotation device on and pull you safety equipment out of compartment so it can float when capsizing. CG will take float plans… its as simple as position, people, where you going and how long will it take for your float plan. 🤙 good job out there.

Good choice of arsenal for shallow water. I envy you being able to flyfish a heavy flyrod without your arm falling off. My arm gets sore from a regular flyrod. My hat and hair off for you. Youre the maaan!

Was rooting for you with the permit. Permit like hard coral rock bottoms. That was probably going to be the fish you could actually get out of the boat for. 😆I've seen more in 10ft of water than I have in 2-3 as well. They seem to hang around those black sponges with the circle in the middle of them. Those sponges hold juvenile lobsters which they love to eat so an area with hard bottom and sponges is a good place to look for them. Often times they are in way deeper water than you would think. But they cruise high.

Great video bro and I'm surprised your allowed to fish in that area. Back in the day after 911 the Coast Guard, FWC, and the Port Authority would kick us out. Maybe they lightened up now and are not so aggressive towards anglers.
