We spent the last few days exploring south florida lakes and canals in search of invasive species like the bullseye snakehead! These fish were introduced into Florida illegally two decades ago. They make excellent table fare, in addition to an amazing sportfish!

@mikebates4852 Hey idiot, guess you didn't pay attention to the video that well or you would've seen the part where he specifically addresses the legality of releasing an invasive species. FWC says it is L E G A L to RELEASE the FISH back into the SAME BODY OF WATER IT WAS CAUGHT FROM. You guys honestly are just assholes, you have no idea what the law actually is, and you'll be the reason Landshark just outright STOPS making any videos relating to invasives. Would you rather have that? Lose 1/3rd, if not more, of his content pool and just watch the same boat in the ocean videos, everyday? Jesus christ get a life. Here let me make an edit aswell. WHERE DO YOU SEE THAT IT IS ILLEGAL TO USE A DRONE FOR FISHING PURPOSES? Please, tell me. It's actually, again, completely L E G A L and they could even attach the line to the drone, and drop it FROM the drone, perfectly in place. That would be L E G A L aswell.

@@LandsharkOutdoorsI just read the statutes and there is no exception that allows for them to be released back into the body of water that they were caught in. The law states that they cannot be released live and must be taken home, used as bait or otherwise disposed of. If caught in possession of a live snakehead or releasing one it is a second degree misdemeanor punishable by up to a $500 fine and/or 60 days in jail.

If you see two snakeheads of similar size chilling together, it could be a breeding pair. The best thing for the situation is a jerkbait. Just have to keep working. If they’re in deeper water with a fryball, you can try a crankbait or a sinking pencil. This has worked for me going after giant snakeheads and common snakeheads. They kinda go into defensive mode when they’re breeding. My biggest snakehead was a 13lb male. My buddy got the female which was around 18lb.

Try french fries for the carp. Up here we live right next to a mexican restaurant on the waterfront and the carp hammer their french fries. We tried everything and the French Fries are what they seem to love the most.

I'm yet to catch a Snakehead in Brevard county, but I have been catching Big Mouth Sleeper fish in recent years.

You have to head south, no snakes in Brevard.

Where in South Florida was this? I went a few months ago and couldn't get anything. I saw snakehead which wouldn't touch a thing after it saw me. From Jupiter to Miami and I got nothing. It was the cold season (like 60ish) and a "cold front) hit two days before I went but I figured since the fish in Jacksonville were still biting in 45-55, that mids 60s at night and 75ish during the day would be fine. I was wrong

I'm from from SoFla. The freshwater bite slows down in the winter, especially around cold snaps. 60 degrees may as well be freezing for our freshwater fish. They are used to 80+.

Incredible!! I am not a big fisherman but I went to University of South Florida for chemical engineering. I want to move back down and start catching iguanas and snake heads and have a gourmet taco stand. That meat loos so awesome and with home grown herbs and mushrooms I believe it would be a hit. What do you think?
