I don't know how you stay calm fishing around the gators.. I was fishing around 1 yesterday and tensions were high.. It was a rush but I couldn't imagine being surrounded by gators.. You're the man Capt!

Good vid. Reminds me of the Holy Land along the Miami Canal...its changed a lil but the fishin is great. Im in Chicago now, cant wait to hit the canals again, they are the real deal.

Thanks pardner. The homemade rack was a must. The tips go over the padded rool bar and the handle ends hang on a padded piece of 3/4" tubeing.

I was born and is growing up in florida and i love fishing i go almost everyday its either salt water or fresh water but mostly fresh water and i still have never seen a gator up close with my to eyes and u said my good eue lol nice vids keep then comeing

I had one leap at me in a canal with a 3 ft wall. Came straight up about this ones size. I had a new respect after that. I never had quality polarized glasses look like you probably do have. Not all gates just lay flat and can run around on land. I seen a youth 6 ftr chasing a squirrel like a dog it freaked me out. Looks like you know what your doing captain Shane love the fishing love the excitement. Happy fishing. Oh been seeing a lot of gators in salt on San Marco rd. It funny u will see a dolphin then a gator ??wet season I'm guessing low salt ratio I guess !Great video >•####~~~

Joseph I usually keep at least one rock in my pocket. The problem is that usually when they are that close I usually have to leave. Plus I really hate hitting them with a rock. If you miss they just think it was a piece of food.

I use Quantum Smoke BC and Shimano Curado BC. Spinning reels I like include the Shimano Saros reels.

You should design a small metal trailer to pull behind, like a tall rolling platform. You could back it up near the water, park there, and fish up on your platform worry free. Then hop over into your jeep and cya!

Yes there are airboat camps nearby. They clean fish and game and the gators eat the waste. Sometimes I see folks tossing fish to gators and I know it ruins that gator for life.

Firts, I keep my ears open to any talk or rumors of fishing spots. Listen to the "Old Timers". Second, I use Google Earth to look at satellite photos to get an overview of any potential fishing areas. Third, armed with the satellite photos, I use my 4x4 to get to locations for a first hand view.

I lived in Costa Rica for 4 year and we used to go Peacock Bass fishing in this area where there were monster Crocks. We used to call it Alligator Bass Rodeo!!! It's a RUSH!! Why don't take all them Snakeheads you catch and feed um to the gators??
