Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over (Lyrics)
Happiness hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her, stuck still no turning back
She hid around corners, and she hid under beds
She killed it with kisses, and from it she fled
With every bubble she sank with a drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run
Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come
And I never wanted anything from you
Except everything you had
And what was left after that too, oh
Happiness hit her like a bullet in the back
Struck from a great height
By someone who should have known better than that
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come
Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come
The dog days are over
The dog days are gone
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come

Why he hell have I always thought florence + the machine was a 90's band, maybe 80's? I didn't heard about them when they came out, and I never paid attention to the date of the videos I watched, they all looked old, I always thought they were re-mastered versions, and florence and the band themselves have always looked old. Finding out the band came out in 2009 and she was 22 is blowing my mind right now.
She seems to flow organically with nature. Her singing, dancing the band, the crowd, the rain all meld to form one great big godly explosion of life!

Idk why but this song just feels like a release. Like 100 pounds gave just been lifted from your shoulders and you collapse to your knees in relief. The melody, the words, the tempo, it’s all just so positive. That combined with her amazing stage presence, she’s barefoot, the rain and wind almost echoing the cathartic experience. and makes me cry happy tears.
There are few absolutely Perfect Performances in the world. I am so grateful this one was captured and shared with so many. It is so effing beautiful! Her voice, the powerful effect the band commands with the crowd, watching them all reflect the love she is sharing of her craft is breathtaking every single time I watch this. Love this comment
The best comment to this was when someone put “ I’m going to tell my kids this is Mother Nature “ lol
I love how she talks so quiet, but when she starts to singing her voice gets released
5:53 that must be the best feeling in the world
She is absolutely ferocious.... what an amazing artist.
The crowd seems totally transported, it's magical
Audiences must be so satisfied with her performance, free and beautiful.
They should really build an energy collector a few hundred meters away from her concerts. So much energy that gets transmitted between her and any crowd listening to her. That collector would supply medium sized city for a few days.

She's absolutely radiant and exudes pure joy. This wonderful song plays at the end of the latest Guardians of the Galaxy and I was in tears with emotion and happiness 😊
I'm 52 yro Nashville pedigree, 3 decades in the biz, & this is simply a MASTERPIECE!!! It's one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, & have been Blessed to sit at the feet & look into the eyes of both Dylan & Cohen! This is DIVINE!!!😇 THANK YOU, GODDESS FLORENCE, & THE MACHINE!!! ✌🌎❤ 🙏

Guardians of the Galaxy FOREVER !!!
I personally just want to say this song brought my Mom and I closer.
I never smiled watching concerts in KZread until now.. like the whole time. It's hard to find a soul so joyous and inviting. Never seen someone making sunshine in the rain. ☺️💛

this never gets old. make me smile every. single. time.
Absolute genius. A type of genius that I know I'll never wield. Which makes this so much better.

I am on the train to work, it’s 2021 and this is still my pick-me-up. Such a pure performance.
I dont know much about Florence but I get the sense she's a beautiful, pure soul.
Highly recommended to anyone that wants to see a great LIVE performance! Every time I see "lip syncing" today, I just cringe, so it is refreshing to watch a TRUE performer singing it LIVE! Florence Welch is a beautiful example of this and here she is in the pouring rain, giving all of her heart and soul in the most passionate way and really knows how to connect with her audience. One of the best performers and vocalists of our time! She lets her inner child shine!! She loves her fans and they love her!!! Bravo!! ~Jackie

Dont forget coldplay,i went to their concert in paris and it was amazing bro!!!
I just saw her live in Detroit, Michigan and I have never been so moved by any performer. I cried and danced and felt so many emotions in such a short amount of time. I want to see her thousand more times. Her vibe is so magical and she creates this amazing atmosphere when she is on stage. I thought nothing could be better than this performance at Oxygen, but seeing her perform live is an experience like no other. I will never ever forget that night
Imposible no llorar al volverla a escuchar. Vengo aquí por Guardianes de la Gala VOL3 ♡♡♡♡ Lo mejor de lo mejor culminar con esta canción.
My son told me about hearing this song on the last day of a job we both worked at and equally hated. He had survived a suicide attempt and was recovering nicely, getting into his car as the sun was just starting to set across a warm New England sky. He’s now grown into a fine adult at a career he loves, and I feel like this song started it all off.
