How we all didn't get electrocuted at this show was a miracle!!! I was in the front row in shin deep water! I remember when Jonny came out and played solo in blinding rain!!! I've been to a lot of great shows, but this one will always be one of the greatest concerts I've ever been to, tens of thousands of us, in the hardest rain I've even seen!!!!

20 years later and the vibe of this concert is still unmatched. Not a single cellphone in sight, just a sea of people completely lost in the moment.

My old dog, LOVED this song! He'd just crawl up the to tv or stereo and his ears would turn and just lay down on his belly and listen to it. He was a good lad, thanks for making the song that he listened to for the last time in 10 years as we put him down. Won't mean much to everyone out there. Some idiot talking about his old dog who loved this song and one of the few things that ALWAYS calmed him down after we adopted him. Still brings tears to my eyes thinking about how chill he was with this song! Not this rendition but damn.... Miss the little fella!

It is more than most people realize. After their lives totally changed, this was return to their hometown, where the community had supported them for years, though they never had a hit. Many in the crowd were family and friends that had supported them throughout the years, in a concert in the middle of Buffalo. The city famous for it's precipitation, became a star in the show.

In the city in America most famous for it's great Lakes epic precipitation. I'm not even a Goo Goo Dolls fan, and knew this just from the title. To paraphrase a great philosopher: "Fat, drunk and ignorant is no way to go through life, son."

I was in the crowd for this, absolutely soaking wet but wouldn't have left for all the money in the world. Some moments are just that special.

I was working on an ambulance during this show. Unless you were in Buffalo that day/evening, you just can't understand how HARD it rained. We rode near Niagara Square a lot during the show. Such a cool scene!

If you are a popular/famous artist...writing an emotional song has to be such a crazy experience. The rain makes the performance better

i’m 17 now, my mother was 17 at the time of this performance. I’d give anything to have been there, i wasn’t yet thought of, but watching this puts so much joy in my heart.

I remember I was so mad at my mom for leaving me home to go to this concert but now I understand because i would leave my ass home too

Aries I remember my sister taking me to Led Zeppelin concert at 12 years old in the 70s. She was a big partier left me in my seat for over 1 hour with 75,000 fans. I felt bad for her born with IRISH Red Hair. Im so IRISH my middle name is PATRICK. They say we get our Freckels from the sun, that might be True because IRISH Skin burns easily in the sun.

jim ogrady wow Led Zeppelin! I would have loved to see them, I myself am only 16 years old but I wish I got to see what an amazing and fun time the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s were cause if I could have been born back then I sure would have chose too 😂

This song loves the rain. I was once waiting for the late night bus at 2am, all alone the street was empty, it was raining and this song came on from my playlist. It was such an awesome moment, I can't describe. I saw the meaning of life in that moment.

Yep, I'm soooo glad I got to experience them in concert in 2002.

This is why I love being from Buffalo. Magic moments don’t happen often and I was there for that night.. I will never forget. And the cold that followed.

Goo Goo Dolls in the rain playing “Iris” is a moment I will never forget even thru a screen.

25 yrs old and it still hits hard.

What made this so special was that everyone there was fully immersed in the performance, no phones. Everyone there creating memories and singing their hearts out. I wish concerts were still like this.

I remember when he was my neighbor way before he was famous. Every weekend I would hear music from his house & damn did it sound good. He was so nice & friendly, he invited me to hangout but I was too damn shy. Anyways, I’m so happy for him. I remember when this song came out, I cried because I was so happy for him.

Everytime I want to give up, I get back to Goo Goo Dolls. This album got me through my teenage years, and now that I am 30 it is still doing so much and it is still so relevant. Thank you for getting me through all those years Chester.

I think it's referring to dissociation brought on by some sort for mental strife, be it anxiety or depression or something else. Kinda like being stuck in "zone out" mode, because you're thinking is so inwards that the outside world becomes unimportant.

This performance is something unreal, it's 10 times better than the studio version, this is this song in it's purest version

Playing in that downpour was extremely dangerous for the band, but that is some dedication. Any other big wig band would have cancelled...

twenty years ago… here i am at twenty four still getting chills from this song no matter how many times i’ve heard it. such a blessing to have lived my life with this song.
