Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over (Lyrics)
Happiness hit her like a train on a track
Coming towards her, stuck still no turning back
She hid around corners, and she hid under beds
She killed it with kisses, and from it she fled
With every bubble she sank with a drink
And washed it away down the kitchen sink
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
The horses are coming
So you better run
Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come
And I never wanted anything from you
Except everything you had
And what was left after that too, oh
Happiness hit her like a bullet in the back
Struck from a great height
By someone who should have known better than that
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come
Run fast for your mother, run fast for your father
Run for your children, for your sisters and brothers
Leave all your love and your longing behind
You can't carry it with you if you want to survive
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come
The dog days are over
The dog days are done
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come
The dog days are over
The dog days are gone
Can you hear the horses?
'Cause here they come

+Casey Travis VERY few bands do. The ones that do usually go on to have very long careers. I think Florence will be one of those, whether with her band or solo b/c she is a real talent.

Need to listen to more music. The Allman Brothers Band, Deep Purple, The Who, Queen, Rush, Nazareth, Scorpions, Prince, W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, Lynyrd SKynyrd and so on all sound better live than they do in studio. It isn't rare. It is just pop music is so boring, sterile and simple that there is no room for improvement.

Absolutely fabulous. This woman is an incredible performer. And a GREAT band. She did another really nice version of this on SNL in 2010 with Anne Hathaway hosting but I can't find a link to it anywhere.

This is a beautiful performance. Gorgeous. Transcendent. Best thing from the entire generation. I can't believe the audience. Drones. Without soul. It's like watching 3 year olds and a cereal advertisement. Sad.
