You know time is passing fast when 3ds games are being considered nostalgic now, even though I got my new 2ds xl in 2017 near the end of the 3ds era, it still brings me good nostalgia replaying the new mario series

Fun fact: this song is a remix of "Prism plains" from Kirby Squak Squad wich was also a remix of "Grass land 3" from Kirby's Dream land 3 so basically this ost is a remix of a remix.

I'm listening to these songs back to back, and I'm not buying that this is a remix. It's different enough to be considered its own thing, especially towards the end where I don't hear much of any similarities to Prism Plains. It's more of a spiritual successor if anything.

0:29 sounds like Prism Plains, and the part after it is Rainy Area from RTD.

@@ridiculicious Now that you mention it, it does sound similar to Rainy Area at that point (or A Stroll on the Ocean Floor as it's called in RTDL Deluxe). However, I'm not sure if it's an intentional reference or not considering how Fine Fields doesn't have much of anything to do with Onion Ocean. Parts of Vs. Star Dream also sound quite similar to Wild World from Triple Deluxe, which seems like a coincidence given that Star Dream and the Haltmann Works Company have nothing to do with some random sky jungle. The similarities in this case could also be a coincidence.

@@C_Arson I don't think it's a reference either, even thinking of the cancelled Gamecube game where it might've been a rain-covered field level. I just thought that segment was used cause it was the happiest part of the original, or they had the same composer so the leitmotif leaked through. My mind's been blown by the Star Dream/Wild World observation though.
