Floods Devastate US Midwest, Minnesota Dam Faces "Imminent Failure" As Heat Wave Scorches East Coast
Flooding in Midwestern America has caused severe damage and forced evacuations. Nearly 3 million people in Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota and Nebraska have been affected, as per US media reports.
In the border area of Iowa and South Dakota, devastation from the record flooding was “severe and widespread,” according to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds
In Iowa, Spencer, a city of more than 11,000 people, was cut off from the rest of the state by floodwater. Hundreds were evacuated to shelters and 383 rescues were made, Spencer Fire Chief Jesse Coulson said. Spencer town imposed a curfew on June 23 for the second night in a row after flooding that surpassed the record set in 1953.
A railroad bridge connecting Sioux City, Iowa, to North Sioux City, South Dakota, collapsed Sunday night and fell into the Big Sioux River.
Meanwhile, in south-central Minnesota, a dam near Rapidan faces “imminent failure” because of structural damage caused by the floods.

That's evil. Kristi Noem may deserve disaster, but the people who lost their family home and may lose their family business at the Rapidan dam don't. The people I knew when I lived in Iowa don't. It's easy for you to be flippant. So where do you live so I when a catastrophe hits your state I can brush it off? (Note: I do not live in a state where flooding is disastrous.)
