Flood Proofing a Property With Simon Crowther | Wall Flood Protection

Ғылым және технология

So we're often asked how you can flood-proof a house, it's not a term that we particularly like as it implies your house will be 100% protected which isn't very realistic. However, there are ways to reduce the ingress into the property.
Today we are going to look at how we can make the walls more flood resistant. People often will just install flood barriers and forget everything else, we have already covered protecting the sewage network against backflow, if you haven't watched it already here it is: • Preventing Toilet and ...
What options are there available? Well, floodproofing is split into 2 key areas:
1. Positive Water Proofing
This is used outside of a structure helping to stop water from penetrating into the property. This is often less disruptive as it does not impact people inside the property.
2. Negative Water Proofing
This is used inside the property, preventing the water to enter the property externally. This tends to be a bit more disruptive as it takes longer to dry and will impact the people inside the property.
