Years of experience condensed into a short video. Brilliant, thanks
A very detailed account of stick float fishing thanks James. Just wish some commercial anglers would give it a go and experience the joy of catching a net of roach and dace ont stick.
James, so good to see you on utube again... No one does such great informative videos as You do, m8.
A great watch. Roll on the new river season.
Brilliant video, a wealth of knowledge. Just picked up the sport myself, and so videos like this are immensely helpful for me to wrap my head around the sometimes confusing variety of rods, tackle and tactics. The education I was looking for 🤓 Thanks for the video, and more to come! Can't wait!

I've been fishing for over 45 years on canals, rivers, ponds, lakes and commercials...and from the swingtip to slapping with the pole and I never fail to wish stuff like this was around when I started. Thank you James again for explaining things so clearly, not to mention enjoyable to watch. The equipment is very top end, too....and very well worth the money. Best instructional videos on the internet..particularly for running line and river feeder fishing
Very helpful video, thanks.
Proper fishing this great video mate.....👏
Great content james, wonderful looking location also
Great video for setting up gear for proper old style fishing no cup elastic etc thanks
Thanks James. Excellent video, I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
Perfect James, love your videos, greetings from 🇷🇸🎣
Great video and tacky looking forward to the rest of the series. I love float fishing, just wish I was better at it! But I've learned lots more from this video and will give them a go. My knots are rubbish and wind really love a video on how to tie the knots you use.
Brilliant video as usual James, thanks very much.👍🎣
Another great video from the best in the business .
Great indepth video James. Would of liked to see some, in action. But well explained
Really enjoyed that 👏 An excellent and thorough video on stick float fishing. Made a refreshing change from constantly hearing about F1 Maggot floats 😁
Bang on again James, love the Harrals but drakes are sweet as a nut shallow.
As great as usual James very informative
Cadence will product some sticks floats one day? I miss my 16X4 or my 7X4...very hard to find some sticks floats in Belgium. Or, why not, some sticks floats with a cane sterm ;)
Brilliant informative video James keep em coming please 👌
You are giving great explanations James! Thank you! Would you consider using a loop to loop connection for connecting the main line to your rig line? I think this would give the advantage of not loosing some length at the top of the rig line as it happens each time you make the blood knot, so the same rig setup could be re-used more times. What do you think?

Hi! I prefer using a full blood knot as it’s very neat and doesn’t really effect presentation. A loop to loop knot is more bulky and may effect presentation, especially on lighter floats. Cheers James
Good to see James has brought his tackle with him 😂 cameraman come on!
Hi james. Thanks for this video. I mainly fish rivers and want to get more into match fishing. So this was perfect for me. What do you do for pre made shallow rigs. Say fishing 2 to 4 or 5 foot deep. Same principle as the others on a winder just use a shorter length? Or isit not worth doing with them being shorter ? Looking forward to the rest of the series, specially bolo and waggler. Whip fishing floats amd rigs would be good too 😁 been watching lots of content old and new lately thankyou 🎣
These kind of videos we need. About the shotting of the float. I believe you finalize the dotting down part on the bank, right? More powerful river needs a bit more shot for the same float, am I right?
Great video but can you show how you make your rigs up on the fluro carbon please?

Hi! Yes no problem I’ll shoot this next time we are out.
James great video as normal. Sorry if you've said I'm the video I'm still watching it. Do you set up your rigs every time on the back or do you ever have them on winders? If winders are used pretty sure they are with bolo rigs etc how do you attached the rig to the main line? Thanks j
Very enjoyable and informative video thank you James. Have been using the 4lb Mono and find it excellent. One question. Which make of no8 shot do you use?

Hi! I like the Vespe no 8’s best. Cheers James
Love your comment about hooks size these days, I noticed this some time ago and I'm amazed that company's are producing hooks that are far different from the original size, makes no sense to do this. Have you seen the Korums Glide Pro Quill Floats, not quill but a balsa float, so have hooks that don't match the original size and floats that are not not what they are called. Maybe time for British standards got involved to stop this sort of thing.
Come to Canada, don’t need to buy 1,000 different floats, just use a red and white bobber like every small child does.
