Flir CM275 Clamp Meter Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Demo/review of the Flir CM275 clamp meter with thermal imaging. This multi meter carries all the basic features of any meter but offers up advanced features like data logging, vfd testing, LoZ, and of course a thermal image camera.

No so unreal. The display is not reinforced (could be damaged with any sharp object) and also is very reflective on direct sunlight

@@supermanreturns3659 Again, you're referring to the CM174 NOT the CM275. At any point, you could easily install a screen protector for less than $5 on your meter if you want even additional protection. Having had this meter out in the field (commercial & industrial) since one month before it was officially released I can tell you that it has held up just as well as my Fluke meters.

First week (1 of 9 months, January to September) of my Electrician program. I’m gearing up to by this Bugatti of MultiMeters. My taxes can’t come fast enough. My professor said it’s overkill. But I have an engineering background. #IWantThis

That’s pretty cool I’m looking for a new meter to replace my old fieldpiece SC620 And checked Flir cm175 out that I might buy one soon. I’m wondering if thermal imaging will help you to find leak ? Overall nice review !

When you a=were showing the sensor you had shoot blocked by leads. I liked the ir image on the low side high side of little compressor. Finicky,I sometimes think old analog meters, are better for certain readings. Simson 260...Instead of them op -amps with there feed back backs ,resistors then comparing then out to driver amp. So which is better the old or the new, ?

The way to assess thermal switches is to measure the voltage drop across them while passing current.

@@HVACKnowItAll Before I had a meter with low ohms I used to used a rig with 2 D cells and a 6 volt headlight and clips. That way I could see what a few amps would do. I discovered if the contacts were losing half a volt, the low ohms scale would indicate a poor ohmic reading. So if the thing measures higher than a tenth of an ohm, contact are probably corroded. It was hard to see that with a cheap pocket meter, but even a little voltage drop will heat the contacts up causing inaccuracy or malfunction. Or, using diode test on the meter might also indicate voltage drop from corrosion. I know sometimes it would be difficult to measure voltage drop if things are iced up, but a bad thermal switch can sometimes click off prematurely due to self-heating from bad contracts.

Looks crazy good. Does it do continuity too? And big question is how is the battery life? Running thermo imaging mode I’d imagine battery grid quick

I've read a fair amount of reviews that say this meter is cool and all, but feels cheap. Obviously you wouldn't want to drop any instrument, but how solid would you say the CM275 feels compared to a 902FC or a Klein CL450?

This meter is definitely cool. I don't get the indication of it feeling cheap. It's a bit bulky, but I think it needs to be because of the camera

Buy a plastic screen protector that you can cut to size and put it on. A screen protector is a most on any field multimeter.

What nobody says and Flir tries to hide is the fact that with the IGM on it drains the AAA batteries in a couple minutes. The same thing with the flash light on. I still haven´t received a response from FLIR for this bug. Just silence. Plus Resistance mode is up to 6 Kohm maximum. Nothing compared with any cheap meter which measures up to 20 o 40 meg ohm. If you have electronics or a circuit board forget about it. Are you kidding me FLIR ? -> 700 dollars Btw it doesn´t comes a carrying case or pouch. You need to buy it separately. So 700 bucks for a defective and incomplete product is just not worth it !! DONT BUY !!!
