People don't understand how emotional cricket can be. I think Mr Fry you just explained it to them.
"You only need a moment like this every 10 or 15 years to keep you coming back." - The beauty of cricket
This is such an extraordinary video... And the way Stephen Fry expresses his emotions is so true... Every single cricket fan can relate..

I share your passion, Mr. Fry.
He gave it all, he literally did. If someone asks me why do you love cricket, it's moments like these that ignites the love for the game
Absolute Gent, admire & share his passion for the game.
Stephen Fry watches back his favourite Andrew Flintoff moment from Lord's in 2009. #Ashes
I'm a Texas grandmother who just started following cricket a couple of years ago. Mr. Fry, to tear up at that memory isn't insane at all. I did, too. I understand (as much as I am able) how important the Ashes is, and I appreciate what an accomplishment that was for Flintoff. It was glorious indeed. I get it. I totally get it.

@@bobdrooples Even more. I’ve been getting up by 5am to watch the Ashes, and I’ve been staying up until 11:30pm to watch the US’s Major League Cricket series. Can’t get enough!
One of my favorite people talking about another one of my favorite people! I wish we could see cricket in the U.S. I had to learn the "outline" of the game after I saw Andrew Flintoff on Graham Norton. (I still have to guess about many things but there is enough on KZread to start catching on.) Flintoff is amazing and there is just such joy in the way he played. Thank you, Mr. Fry!

Great year/s for English ciricket & a special [very] player. Stephen! were the tears for the 'boy that could've been' or 'the father that wanted the boy to be a great player'. Alas, i'll never know! God bless your fantastic commentaries & ability to articulate with masculine compassion & guile - long may it last my friend.
He he he that is passion!

You legend Mr Fry
Great admire of best form of cricket
I support your passion as well Mr Fry
My favourite memories filntoff miss you
I'm sure those who don't watch cricket won't understand this, and think this is some blubbering fool shedding tears over a silly sport played by posh old timers. If you're reading this and you don't watch Test cricket, and don't understand why Stephen would tear up - next opportunity you get, watch a Test match. Have the rules up on your phone, listen to the commentary, and try and build your understanding of the game over the five days. At first it'll bewilder you, but slowly you'll get there. And bit by bit, you'll give a little fist pump for a wicket, or a boundary. And then you'll think, "damn, that was good", and you'll watch another. And another. And one day, you'll join Stephen and the rest of us in a truly great Test moment, and you'll have tears in your eyes. And then you'll understand.
Never knew how much Fry loved cricket
I've watched Stephen Fry's whole career with relish. He's someone I completely respect and admire. It's great he's so passionate about cricket. He totally gets what is beautiful about the game & it's incomprehensibility to non - cricket fans. Be great to see his thoughts on Shane Warne.
What a lovely video.
Freddie is the pride of Preston! A good northern lad whose talent was only overshadowed by his modesty and fairness on the field with bat and ball.
Stephen fry and Freddie flintoff would be 2 of my fantasy dinner guests
I was there, memorable day
The way Stephen fry is talking about Freddie, it almost looks like a father-son relationship.
That English side is so underrated. This team could beat any side in the world. They took the no.1 rank from India and being an Indian I must say 'they deserved it'

Thank you, Rishabh! I am an English cricket lover and Mr Flintoff is from my home town, Preston in Lancashire and we are very proud of him! I lived and worked in India for 20yrs and well understand the love of cricket in your fantastic country. In 20yrs over there I never received anything but friendship from Indian people and there will always be a part of India in my soul! Bharat Mera Dil me hai! Jai Hind!

@@stevebrindle1724 I have always loved Freddie and his passion for the game. I still remember he gave up his career at the cost of 2009 ashes and believe me he could give his life too. That English side comprising of cook, Strauss, bell, Trott, Pietersen, Freddie, Collingwood, Anderson, broad and Swann were as dominant as a side could get. Cricket used to be a different game in that era.
I have followed test cricket for years and years, and the Ashes is simply a magnificent contest..I love watching every 2 years, but trying to explain the concept of Ashes cricket to my neighbours is proving pointless as I live in Los Angeles and Americans just do not get it!!
05-09 of English cricket was just magical
Love sport.
no wonder ,Who is Stephen Fry’s husband Elliott Spencer? ELLIOT Spencer is 30 years Stephen Fry's junior but he has been majorly credited for helping the TV legend find happiness in his personal life.
The real ashes hero
It seems very strange for me, for Stephen it’s so much important, that for me it very strange game at all, that because I from country where cricket is not popular, such as in England. But I was surprised by seeing crowds anthems and how adult man tiers about that, I want to try cricket but there isn’t team to play with in my city.
emotional
A couple of English treasures right there!
Why they playing the Oblivion music in the background?
I totally get it
Damn onions
For me Freddie, Akhtar, rabada are the most scary bowlers in the world cricket
Makes not an iota of difference now but 1:09 was a no ball.
Tho who get it get it those who don't I feel sorry for you
Stephen CRY 😂
Doting as if his son
