We are focusing on the Atlas lathes today as I have tended to lean more to the mill, and shapers. There are few complete machines and mostly parts and although I normally find lots of overpriced parts (and still do) there were a few good deals on some small items. I do these fleabay editions to try and help you know the things to look for when you are shopping for a machine whether on the internet or from a local seller. I hope you find some information here to be helpful in your shop as well as entertaining.
Atlas originally offered these machines aimed at the home shop and were a low cost alternative that fit in the shop or garage of the average hobbyist. Now they have become a machine that is being parted out on some sites with prices of used parts as well as new reproduction parts in many instances being many times more than their actual value. This is my attempt to show how many of these parts can be built by the average hobbyist as well as offer many at a reasonable cost so these machines can continue to be enjoyed by the hobby machinist.
