Flatwoods Monster Solved!

Ғылым және технология

Today we return to flatwoods with a shorter video before we finally talk about T.rex. In this video we will discuss new suggestions, Mesopotamian Eye Gods and their possible connection to the Flatwoods Monster, and aliens! (Sorry for the long wait, I have been very busy, the T.rex video will be out shortly)

    My uncle rescued and fed an injured baby barn owl once. Now it occasionally shows up and shows its appreciation by jumpscaring him randomly at night. One thing it does is that it can fly silently so you would walk out the door, turn around to lock the door, then when you turn around *THERES A BIG FUCKING OWL SITTING ON THE FENCE WITH GLOWING EYES STARING RIGHT AT YOU* .

I worked in a wildlife sanctuary for a while and I got to tend to the owls. The Great horned owls would shy away quietly... until you got the hose out. They loved dancing in the hose water. It was pretty weird and yet charming.

    I can totally see this happening. When I was a teenager one night I saw the family cat sitting in the open window in a darkened room in silhouette and for a second it looked like the head of a black creature with glowing yellow eyes unnaturally close together was looking at me through the window. My brain completely misread what it was looking at and it scared the shit out of me till I realized what I was looking at a second later.

    as somebody that has grown up in the boonies I can confirm that owls are indeed terrifying as hell. The first time I heard an owl screech I was so scared it made me cry, I was 5.. Another time, there was an owl that had an affinity for stealing peoples hats. it would wait in the trees near a local park and during the late evening it would swoop down to snatch the hats of anybody walking by. fucker got me twice, but only managed to get my hat once, it was not pleasant or gentle either. years later some hikers found its nest, FILLED with hats.

    The weirdest part of the story for me is the sickness suffered by the witnesses after seeing the monster. Now of course this could be attributed to being the symptoms of a kind of hysteria. Not too far a stretch either considering once I was so stressed by college that I developed a rash on my hands and feet out of nowhere. I just wish I had the ability to go back in time and look at the even from an objective standpoint.

    Another thing about owls is that their wings are completely silent, they don't make a distinctive flapping sound when they fly. So a hissing barn owl, late at night, swoops down on the kids, they might think it was floating or levitating just to how quit the owl's flight is. Really the more I think about it the more a defensive mother barn owl makes the most sense.

    I always wondered when I heard the owl explanation why someone who's lived in an area with owls wouldn't recognize an owl when they saw one. The barn owl threat display makes a lot of sense though coupled with the fact they were already spooked and only saw it for a few seconds, and that noise it makes. Good gawd I knew it was coming and it still freaked me out.

    Quick question: Do barn owls dip low like that while displaying aggression or is that a great horned owl thing? Barn owls are not considered "true owls," but great horned owls are, FWIW. Answer: Because I love wildlife _and_ because Google is my friend, I searched for barn owls engaged in threat displays. There are pictures of barn owls dipping their heads _and_ holding out their wings to look bigger. The fanned tail and wings really resemble the cowl of the Flatwoods monster, more so in some pictures than in others, but the resemblance is undeniable. I'm convinced both mothman and the Flatwoods monster were owls. Have a look if ya like: www.google.com/search?q=barn+owl+threat+display&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiD1birj9jeAhVuIDQIHcfEDwIQ_AUIDigB&biw=1280&bih=670#imgrc=s7h_1SWvGEXwhM:

    The biggest issue I have with that theory is that I looked, but I can't find a picture of a barn owl ducking down like the Great Horned owls. And from what I understand, there are behavior differences between the two species of owls. But let's just say barn owls do that, if you noted with the great horned owls when they duck forward, their feet disappear. However, the arms could just be chalked up sticks sticking off the branch the owl was sitting on. I personally doubt the monster was a great horned owl since the head shape is all wrong and the eye shine of great horned owls is two toned with red in the center and yellow around it, but the red is the more prominent part. Another theory I suggest is that the odd head shape was due to the same tree that made the body shape, pinnacling right behind the owl's head.

  • @dracocrusher

    @dracocrusher

    6 жыл бұрын

    I'd imagine the branch the owl was on was curved and what they mistook for the potential 'body' was the tree, itself. So it would make complete sense for the end of the branch to be mistaken for a limb and for the witness to just assume there was one on the other side that they just can't remember. I'm pretty sure that's why the body seems to go straight down and connect to the ground with notch lines or whatever running straight down it, according to the drawings.

    Except for when the monster was 10 feet. Or 12 feet. I literally just saw another comment claiming it was just 7 feet. Funny how frightened kids have no idea how big something is at all. And considering the owl was probably branched on the tree they mistook for the body, it would only really need to be at or slightly above eye level to throw them off and make them think it's huge. Also, you'd be kind-of amazed how much traumatic experiences can mess with someone. If you've ever had to cram for a big test or something and stressed out over it, then you're probably aware of how easy it is to feel sick or just catch something while your body's out of whack.

Born and raised in flatwoods played and hunted all over the sighting land my grandparents land. Since a child I have been told the truth from the people who were there close friends. At that time flatwoods was not like it is today. Very very small place not even a town, I wouldn't have called it a town. Since then this place has grown rapidly. ? From farm land to a large town. Yes I 100% know the truth. I wouldn't say publicly. Now knowing how big and how much curiosity is involved in the Flatwoods Green Monster it is astonishing. A story known world wide that happened in my back yard. I will say that as a kid I seen and witness very strange things in that small general area that I've never seen anywhere else.

    @@EspionageTV "Since a child I have been told the truth from the people who were there close friends." So people who supposedly knew the group who thought they saw a monster just said "Hey, my friend said he saw an alien" and that was enough for you to just believe it? "Yes I 100% know the truth." It seems like you're just buying into a second-hand source without any actual evidence. You're looking at someone who knew a guy who mistook a thing for something else and just assuming that makes it true. Trust me, as someone whose heard some crazy bullshit from people, that's not nearly enough to go on as proof. My dad once knew a crazy person who hallucinated seeing tiny versions of himself that crawl around, but that doesn't mean it's real by any stretch. You live in redneck county like me long enough and you quickly learn you can't trust people for crap on stuff like this, you need to actually look at the accounts and evidence to come to an actual conclusion.

Reason 2: Even with this cuteness, they were the most likely cause of two of the most well-known cryptid sightings on the east coast and I love that. Reason 3: If reality was a video game, they would be some of the best assassins around.
