I've been watching your channel for 3+years. Justin you are the cat man!!

I done the aame thing one day. Threw a big large mouth bass out as bait. Bout 14 inches. Had a 67 pound flat hezd grab it soon as it hit the water. I had just barely locked the bell. Literally jerked the pole out of my hand. Thought i was gonna be swimming for my rod. Lol. Have had a few do that over the years. Get fish feeding agressively in a spot. And you can have a fun day.

No sir it's not to take it as a grain of salt you are right. I have heard from several other anglers that the sound wave from the sonar or the down imaging it does scare the fish away and it causes them not to eat. So you are making perfectly good sense when you are talking about turning it off and having better luck at catching fish with the sonar being turned off

Here in Oklahoma and in Texas, Flathead love live baits. I agree with you about those yellow bass. Very tough and underrated bait. They are good as live baits or cut baits

Another awesome video! Gotta love those bites when you're about to put it in the rod holder. 😂 Something I've noticed since I've switched hook placement on livebaits, I switched to nose hooking mainly and haven't had many issues with the hook doubling over. I also go on the top behind the dorsal fin on some things. Good luck on the next trip, sir! Hope to see ya on the water one day. 🎣

Cat fish are more sensitive to electricity than fish with scales. There barbles pick up other fish so it has to detect fish finders.

JJ, for what it's worth, I was trying to tell you your rod was going over at the 17:46 mark.

Justin I have always hooked my live bait threw the front of the eyes, they seem to stay a little more lively and my hook ups seem to increase.

Through the eyes. I hook my live baits the same way thwt Justin hooks his cut bait. Up through the nose holes. Cause 90.percent of catfish are gonna eat a bait head first.

Nothing like a big live bait goin down.. Then u feel that thump and the rod starts going down slown. Set the hook and feel like your snagged. Then that boy starts pulling drag! Nothing like it!
