    Thanks; concise, clear-cut, understandable explanation of the distinction between pneumatic and flat free tires. Trying to convince myself to go with flat free but thanks to your vid pneumatic is my best choice.

    .. aah .. thank you for explaining the pros and cons of each item; take care of the wheels and they will perform as intended. Very often I see people mindlessly abuse their wheelbarrows by placing very heavy objects on them only to leave them there for months ..

    good to know that the flat free caster should be moved around a bit to prevent flat spots. or block unit involved so casters don't contact ground

    @@CasterHQ 6/6/21, I have a question on "semi-pneum" as on an *OHIO STEEL* lawn sweeper; I'm planning to get 1 (or Agri-Fab), it just seems those wheels are cheaply made [China junk]. Can you upgrade to a better quality wheel on those? Thx... :)

    Do the pneumatic tires puncture as easily as bike tires? Like say on yard torns like Tribulus terrestris, aka as caltrop, goat's head, sticklers?

    My new air filled pneumatic failed but the pair of flat free wheels continued to carry their load. With an extra third of carry weight. I'll buy my flat free replacement for the pneumatic on May 04. Have a hand dolly that wheels my Whitehall skiff between the harbor boatyard storage area and sea access ramp.

    Hi Rich, What is the weight capacity? For grass and dirt I always recommend a Air Filled Pneumatic or Flat Free Pneumatic Caster. I am not sure if these can handle your weight capacity? www.casterhq.com/pneumatic-casters-s/178.htm

    Air filled for the win if you are dealing with wheel truck

    A reviewer should always mentioned if a scooter have splitt-able tyre-rims, or not. The Zero 8/9/10 models have it, for example. It's still gonna be a hassle to change tubes/tyres for customers without skills and tools - but at least it's gonna be a much smaller hassle. And bicycle-stores with workshops are more likely to help you out. Especially if you already have the spare-tube with you.

    Caster wheels are much different than the wheels found on scooters and bicycles. Most of the time its more affordable to just replace the wheel instead of the tube and now days most of our wheels are tubeless or foam filled.

    Air filled tires will roll easier and protect your load better. Foam Filled won't roll as easily but are maintenance free meaning no need to add air or check pressure.

  • @mellowjammer

    How about rolling resistance for each type of tire? Will one type be easier to push with a max load than the other? How about on hard surfaces vs. grass? Assuming the pneumatic is properly filled to it's recommended pressure.

  • @CasterHQ

    @CasterHQ

    Great questions. I plan on making a much better detailed video soon. Load resistance will be easier on all surfaces to roll with an air filled tire properly maintained. Flat frees will always be more difficult to roll in general since they don’t provide resilience and rebound like and air filled offers.

    For a metal gate, which tire would be best? Pneumatic vs. Flat free?

  • @CasterHQ

    @CasterHQ

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Kelley, It all depends on the weight of the gate. A flat free wheel could actually flat spot if too much weight sits on those foam filled tires for too long. An air filled tire requires more frequent maintenance of adding air and checking the tire pressure to make sure it doesn’t go flat. I recommend a solid rubber flat free tire. We do carry a flat free tire that has a solid rubber tire instead of foam filled. It might be best. Call us anytime 844-439-4335.

    Can flat free carry the same load weight as pneumatic?

  • @CasterHQ

    @CasterHQ

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes. They carry around the same capacity but be sure not to leave the maximum weight capacity these are rated for sitting or parked for long periods of time on the flat free wheels as they can develop flat spots. To prevent flat spots multiply the weight capacity of 3 wheels instead of 4 and you should be good to go.

    No. Casters in general and Caster wheels in the entire industry are only rated at walking speeds and should not exceed 3MPH.

    You never discussed the maintenance for the pneumatic tire.

  • @CasterHQ

    @CasterHQ

    Pneumatic Tires need periodic maintenance due to the tire being air filled they will need to be maintained and re-aired depending on how long these sit or how much they are used. We always recommend checking the air pressure on the tires every 2 weeks if these are used frequently other wise 3-4 weeks will suffice although you may not need to air them up this frequently.

    Not helpful. Is pneumatic tubeless? Is flat free solid? What extra maintenance required on pneumatic? Etc.......

  • @CasterHQ

    @CasterHQ

    3 жыл бұрын

    Our pneumatics tires are tubeless. The flat free are foam filled not solid. The pneumatics will require a bit more maintenance since you have to air them up periodically. The flat free are great wheels which provide a wide foot print for out doors but will not be as shock absorbing compared to an air filled pneumatic tire. Flat free tires should not be loaded to the maximum capacity of 4 casters if they will sit for long periods of time as they can develop slight flat spots. Sorry the video was not more helpful. This is still a new thing for me. Thanks for the interest and great questions.
