Flame Painted Copper Art & Jewelry

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

While enjoining a few days at Horsethief Reservoir near Cascade Idaho we ventured into town and stopped by the local flea market. While there we met Miriam Quagliato with The Gypsy Phoenix creating some outstanding art and jewelry with copper and a torch. I would like to thank Miriam for allowing us to share your craft with our viewers.

Excellent explanation, and you've inspired me today! There seem to be a lot of opinions about protecting the copper once the final piece is finished. After looking at your Etsy store and following you on fb, I believe you are a true pro, and I'm wondering what you use. In the video, you mentioned a polymer clear coat. Which one do you use? Thanks in advance, and a great job on this video

That was AMAZING!! I started making copper jewelry a few years ago, when I was homeless, from scrap copper I would find while 'diving'. I love anadizing copper, the colors can be so pretty, but I haven't been able to master always getting the colors I'm trying to achieve. I use a cigar torch with a 2" flame and could you tell me what the order in colors is or a chart showing the thickness of copper wiring and how long you heat it for, to obtain a particular color patina? I am most appreciative of any information that you could provide me regarding these things. Thank you!!

@@The_Conqueeftador I'm not surprised at your confusion. I actually don't know as much about welding supplies as you seem to know and this set up could very likely be intended for acetylene, because the man that I learned from had originally invented the process using acetylene, but then switched to propane because it is cleaner, cooler and cheaper.
