*Warning!!!! Please research the dangers of melting certain metals. There's a serious problem called "metal fume fever". Zinc is one of the main culprits. Aluminum, Brass (3% - 45% zinc), US pennies since 1982, commercial bronze, nickel silver, aluminum solder, etc. So, know what you're working with. There's quite a bit of information on this subject on the web. Here's also a link from Charles Lewton Brain about Metal Safety: www.ganoksin.com/borisat/nenam...

You two crack me up and I learn something everytime. I am a subscriber. LOVE you 2.
Such a wonderful lesson. I have a fear too much flame because I am known for melting too often...silver that is. Thanks Nancy for having Sugar teach us a lesson on fusing. I will give it a try.
Thank you (and Sugar) for such an amazing lesson!
Thank you (and Sugar) for sharing this! Just began melting scrap a few days ago to see what would happen. Great tips! Also started enjoying your new prong setting class today-----fabulous. Although, I'm wondering if they asked you to "tone it down a little", or something Thank goodness your great personality still shines through - love it!
That is so cool - fusing sterling to copper - can't wait to try some. You all are a wealth of information and entertainment. Thanks so much. Also thanks for the warnings too.

Search up sweat soldering, it is the perfect way to get started and practise using larger lumps of metal that you can't accidentally melt so easily :).
Nancy I love your videos. I have learned so much. And now you have added some sweetness with Sugar. Great video.

best friend goals right there! Hilarious and well done. Fun techniques too. I just began experimenting with reticulation. Its a bit scary to take a pristine sheet and take to torch to it not knowing what will turn out. I like the idea of playing around with scrap!

Love, love, LOVE this video!!! As a self proclaimed (and loosely termed) perfectionist, I often get stuck and want to hang myself from a tree of fine details. (If you only knew the number of unfinished projects on my workbench, Oy...). Sugar, this looks like a fun, creative exercise in happy accidents, and the outcome is gorgeous! You both rock; thanks so much for sharing! Nancy, will you guys do more? See you in Craftsy!

+Jennifer White I use to share a studio with a perfectionist in Taos and we often laughed while she was meticulously working on one piece I had almost finished a dozen or more. Intentional accidents. Once you get use to it there are some aspects you can control. Now get out of your head, let go of control and see what happens....It's a lot of fun!!
I wondered if Sugar could comment on whether she needed to pickle the items after they were fused, since heating sterling usually blackens the piece. Many thanks to you both for a wonderful learning experience.
Love your glasses that are awesome!

sweet thanks
I love this!!! What do you coat the colored copper pieces with to retain color as best as possible?
Would love to see some of Sugar's finished pieces? Does she have an online gallery or shop?
Hi ladies, you are both fabulous! Thank you for this top video. I was wondering if this can be done with gold onto sterling. And if so, will any gold do it? Thanks again!
Great stuff!! Fix'in to try it right now! Obediently yours the mutt
I have been doing this with smaller bits for 10 years. I call it my “secret sauce” -- aaaack, it’s not a secret anymore! Looove that upcycle!
wonderful
That is cool af!
Insane!’n. Thank you!’
Sugar is cute and clever.
Just found the video... Great stuff. Am wondering if this would work for copper onto copper?
Your work is beautiful and I was always wondering if I should put flux before I added silver dust or silver items so I guess not thank you🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗
Hi Nancy can I use brass instead of copper? Again this is a great video. Thank you so very much. Thumbs up...
Pretty! ! ! Questions: Can the metal sheet be cut with a jeweler's saw after fusing, or will it break apart?
Hello Nancy. I love your videos we have two things in common Cats and jewellery. Please could you tel me if your using bare copper and pure silver for the fusing. Thank you so so much for your funny and very informative videos. 🤗💕🥰
Nancy, that was way cool. I need to get a torch and try my hand at that. Is that a special one for jewelry making?

+SugarcreekForge Sorry for the slow reply. It's an acetylene torch. I think it is also used for steel work too. The one I have is a Goss. Thanks!
Hi ladies. The results of that technique are beautiful. Is an acetylene torch necessary or will butane do the job?
