My detailer used magic eraser and did amazing job. Perfect, no; but 90% restored. Smooth and no stick.

Thanks man. Yeah, all Italians, Europeans and even American cars had this problem. Ferrari still has it to this day.

Excellent job. You have a lot of patience to do this sticky problem. I found out about this problem from a friend in car biz. I’m looking at a 2018 Gran Tourismo in Florida that probably has this same thing. Does it affect the actual function of the buttons? I am hesitant to spend that kind of money if it affects the function of the car. Thanks for sharing that vid.

Thanks. I will definitely never do it again. Not worth the brain damage. Sticky buttons do not affect the functionality but it's absolutely disgusting when all that paint melts and attracts dirt and hair.

Excellent video. I tried guitar cleaner as recommended by another KZread video and created an even bigger, stickier problem for the "Shark" (2010 Maserati GranTurismo grey convertible). I see that you are in Boca? Any chance that I could hire you to strip and repaint my buttons once the Shark relocates to Palm Beach county this fall? My only criticism is that you address your audience as "Fellas". I do not personally know any other lady spaghetti car enthusiasts out there but just like aliens; I am pretty sure they exist. ;-) Thanks for the super video.

Thank you for the compliments Lori, they are greatly appreciated. I do say "fellas and ladies" in the beginning so it's a standing greeting 😁 I am actually an attorney so KZread/car thing is just a hobby and I don't work on other people's cars. There is a company in California that fixes sticky buttons but you have to take all the panels out and mail to them. They charge about 6-7k depending on how many pieces needs work.

I'm curious. What was the paint you used? Some of my interior is a chocolate brown sticky mess. I bought mine with only 3K miles on it and it already had some of that sticky goo on there.I've kept it in a garage the past 3 years but its still bad here in Texas. I'm considering selling it but if I keep it, I'll have to follow your video and do mine.

The paint is SEM 15243. I also did a 2011 QP two years ago and it's still holding up well.

I ran across a combination that works well to remove the stickiness. Neutrgena makeup remover and isopropyl alcohol. You are welcome.

Nice work. My GT is in worse condition than yours. The center console (where you have CF) is the same sticky finish on mine. So are the window and seat controls. Will the labels come off if I try to remove the sticky finish on the buttons? What is the solution to handling anything with a label or words?

Thanks. The labels won't come off if you use ammonia or a mild cleaner. They will come off if you use alcohol or paint stripper. The labels will come off from the ac vents regardless of what you use as they are printed on top of that soft touch garbage. I also did the QP on the channel without CF in the center console, you can see there how I take it apart.

Grab with both hands and pull up hard. It's friction fit.

Your text description of the video has one big fault: It is not an issue of what you call spagheti cars. It is an issue of different premium cars of this era. Merceds S-class, SL and some BMWs have the same issue.

@@yularambula6406 Driving stickshift without shoes on is the best. You really get the feel the clutch. Unfortunately it's illegal to drive barefoot in Florida. (It's also illegal to live and breathe in Florida).
