I had a leak in the same location (top of the radiator in the seam). Soldered it and it’s holding fine. Nice video thanks for sharing.

I soldered mine and it held water but when the radiator shop pressurized it to find the leak in the core the top seam started leaking. They fixed the top seam too and had to really fight it due to corrosion.

@@chickenhousemechanic cool you were able to save it. I Like to try and keep it original if possible. Like you say the old radiators were better built

@@DH1942 Yeah, all 3 tractors I've redone are still sporting their original radiators. I've never seen the replacements in person but they look cheap.

The fan shrould that I took off my 64 4000 Diesel (with 2 blade fan) was heavily trimmed around the bottom neck so I ordered a new one from Dennis Carpenter NAA-8146-B and it wont fit without trimming. The one you used in this video fits nicely. Can u point to one that fits without trimming?

Best thing is to find an original. I ran into the same issue with an aftermarket one on my 8n. Swapped it with original and fit like a glove and the fan didn't hit it anymore.
