Fixing a boost leak on a Volvo V70 D3 (DIESEL) 2012 D5204T3

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I will trouble shoot a Volvo that belongs to a friend of mine, it has lost a lot of its former performance, but the repair turns out to be both easy and relatively cheap to fix!
The charge hose/boost hose I use in this video is:
ESEN 24SKV865
Its equivalent to Volvo OEM number 30792545.
This part was around 45USD and that's compared to an OEM hose around 150USD.
How ever this hose didn't have the greatest fitment, but it did do the job...

Same issue in the in a 2.0 D4 D5204T3 with +- 200 000km, thanks to your clip an easy fix. Leak was in the same spot, yet way smaller (check engine light only came up when driving more aggressively, booster sound also less pronounced). I ordered the same part yet was send the Stark version (free upgrade!), fit was excellent and the new “friction hose” is way longer than the original.

The hose on my S80 packed up as well..coming out of a campsite in Barcelona with a 1500kg caravan behind. Went to Volvo and they didn't have the hose; they had sold the last one the day before. Got a hose fitted the next day, and all was fine. I think that hose is a best seller!

I have this exact same issue on the exact same pipe on the exact same location 🤣🤣 I tried patching the hole up which unfortunately didn't work. So I've ordered a new pipe and hope to get it soon. Awesome video

Back with some feedback, my boost pipe still hasn't arrived but I managed to find a 2nd hand one from the wreckers for $20. Atleast ill have a spare new one when it does arrive. Replaced it, cleared the fault codes and she's boosting again. This video really helped. Thanks brother 👌

I see you changed from having car on ramps with wheels on to axle stands and wheels off. Do the wheels need to be removed, or does it make it easier with them removed?

@BenzMackan I got the same issue and thats how i came across your video. I replaced the part and the car is going like a jet again. Question i have is should we be concerned about the oily mist in the pipe ?....I see that it is the case with your repair....is this indicating that the Turbo is on its way out!....or is that considered normal ?

Id say it’s normal, a diesel will always have some oily mist in the boost pipes. Don’t worry about it, if it’s not huge amounts.

Funny that you fast-forward the lower clip - everything else is so easy that a video isn't needed, but the hard bit is missed...waste of my time watching this video.
