Thank you Guys. 2009 subaru impreza, door wouldnt close, latch stuck in the closed position, I was driving, stopped, opened the door and it would never close again. Drove home holding the door as closed as possible. this made the job a breeze. Thanks again.

Could you please do a video on how to unjam the same door lock while it’s closed please I’ve managed to remove the door panel but can’t unlock it to open I’ve used the wd40 spray inside key lock an just sprayed what I could see on the inside but still can’t open it

Hey quick question if you guys can reply fast, is the actuator and door handle the same for a 08 wrx and 08 sti both hatch. Can I install a door handle from a 08wrx to a 08sti ? Thanks

I have a 2008 Subaru Impreza with this problem on the driver's side front door. I have purchased the replacement actuator. However I can't get the door to open from the inside or the outside to start. Is there a trick to getting it to open in this situation? I need access to those three actuator screws that are only accessible when the door is open. What do you suggest?

@@wojtazeq1236 I had to yank the inner panel off from within the car (which broke some of the plastic connecting points so had to super glue those back on later). Once that was off I had to peel back the plastic vapor barrier to gain access to the door actuator mechanism.( There were some other connecting points along the way that I had to unscrew). After many hours and over the course of days I managed to pull on the cables in the right way and/or flip the right lever on the actuator by chance which unlocked the door finally. All this is basically done by feel because you can't see what you are doing once your arm is jammed in the inside opening of the door. It did help me however to have the replacement part in hand to look at while all this was going on so I could understand better the inner workings of the door actuator. I hope that helps. It was a total pain. Hopefully you can figure it out quicker than I did.

@@sam382 Broke one or two connectors so I think I'm just gonna take it to the mechanic's cuz I'm probably going to sell the car in the near future. Thank you for the advice though, it's nice trying to do something myself every now and then.

Now what if I can’t even get my door opened how would I fix this ?

I could have a completely different issue, I'm here trying to figure out what my problem is but if I put the key in and turn to unlock and pull the handle it opens. Hope this helps

Did you figure it out without calling a locksmith im in the same boat it’s been closed for nearly a month because I won’t pay $200 for a locksmith to open my car door, but I’m fat-ish an I hate climbing over the seats so I barely use my car now an just use others cars
