Fix It Sticks - Scope Jack and Bubble Level Kit Overview

Спорт

Did you know that Fix It Sticks also makes a scope mounting tool (the Scope Jack) and a bubble level kit? When the Varminter crew visited the Fix It Sticks booth at the 2020 SHOT Show (Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade Show), they showed us their latest products for mounting your scope accurately and efficiently. Although this overview covers both products, they are actually sold separately and designed to be used independently.
We requested a set of each, so the folks at Fix It Sticks sent them to me. Included in the video above, I show the steps to install a scope using the Scope Jack, as well as an overview of the Bubble Level Set. In this video, I explain each of the steps using both items.

Definitely! I thought this was very cool! David got me one and I used it to mount a scope last week and it took minutes.

@@6x47... - I have the Wheeler as well. I did a comparison with the Scope Jack against the Wheeler and the Scope Jack was dead-on, the Wheeler was close. I used the Fix It Sticks Bubble level kit to verify and the Wheeler was off slightly.

Wheeler Bubble levels are always "slightly off". Can't trust them to be accurate

I have one as well in my shop that I use to verify everything once it’s setup. Works great! Thanks!

Most people don't leave that much room under their scopes. good luck with using that on most applications

Interesting product, thanks for sharing. Will work good for picatiny rail guns - not so much for round receivers....

Neat ideas, unfortunately many manufacturers do a poor job of squaring up the turrets (Vortex). The pic mounted bubble level is very nice.

Fix It Sticks did a great job on it. As you mentioned sometimes things are not as square as you would like so it’s always a good idea to verify with a plumb bob or tall target. Thanks for the comment!

U need the scope rings more loose and u should have the gun on a level vice or bench. I was at their demo. 🤙🏼

I like using feeler gages between the scope flat (on bottom of scope) and the rail to get the scope aligned. This can't be done with all scopes. The Burris site says to use 20 inch/pounds torque for ring tops (50 is way too high). I like your site content BTW.

Thanks for the comment! Your exactly right and that works great. I have come across some older scopes that the bottom was not flat. I agree. 50 in lbs is for scope base screws, not for rings.

The only really flat spot on a scope is the underside in the center . They make levels for that purpose .

Thanks for the comment! That is the point of contact for the scope jack so it makes it nice. After I finish mounting any optic that I plan on using for long range I always verify the reticle with the fall of gravity by using a tall target test. Thanks again!
