I fell over a product today that would be great for fixing these:- Search for "CRL Black Acrylic Continuous Hinge" it's the same sort of hinge used for piano key cover lids but made from black plastic...

I've got so much advice and inspiration from your videos, so I think you more than deserve a massive thank you. I love the fact that vintage toys dont have to be perfect. For me it's nostalgia, a passionate trip down memory lane. yeah sure cared and figures are great and I do own a couple but I dont want to go down the road of perfection. any ways, thanks again and keep up the good work.

It might not be a bad idea to put tape across the working hinges as well. It would even up the look and the extra reinforcement might help futurefproof the working hinge

First use 2000 grit sandpaper to remove all of the scuffs and gouging, then Use car polish and a wool buffer wheel at a slow speed. Those cases will shine like glass! Trust me.... it’s an amazing transformation. A good way to fix the hinges is to glue black nylon straps inside of the case; lengthwise, much like a piano hinge. Love the videos mate! Your a great inspiration for those hard to do fixes! FYI, the CD singles cases are a damn good idea. Thank you.

Just to let you know, Javier, your use of English is excellent. There were only two errors, Armor All and Spanish require capital letters as they are proper names. I have read worse posts from people whose first and only language is English.

I remember this man that used to go to my neighbour's house and he had this case or a really similar case filled with vintage figures, I remember at the time I wasn't into Star Wars that much and I was more into Lego but those figures looked neat and vintage, I assume he still has them.

You might try using nail polish remover (Acetone) to remove those stickers and sticker residue. I used Acetone to remove the adhesive left by old tape on a box from a vintage Star Wars Mini-rig just yesterday. It worked perfectly without damaging the cardboard or print on the cardboard. I use it all the time on plastic. I would recommend testing it on a small area first though. Best of luck with your future restorations and videos!

an old video to comment on i know but have you tried using webbed black duct tape? insulating tape while looking the part really loses its adhesion over time and has a tendency to go all "gummy" which you may have already discovered in the years since you made this :)
