Go Pro 5 Lights work. Camera appears to work. LCD screen worked until micro SD card was (possibly improperly) inserted. LCD screen worked before. Now it does not. Battery removal does not correct the screen issue. Battery is good. Is a hard factory reset possible without the LCD screen? Thx any and all.

Hello your video is pretty nice and helpful, however, I tried using all the technique that you showed above. All my lights are blinking but the screen is still not working. I got my Gopro about two years ago and barely used it. I did have two batteries that are both brand new and for some reason my screen still won't turn on. Is there a way you could advice another tip to use for it to work? Thank you so much.

Riz Tecson hi, i would highly suggest to contact the gopro chat support for that. For sure they will replace it. Just prepare a video and the official receipt. My gorpo a year ago replaced them even my warranty is over and also my friends gopros.

@@BALASTECH You're amazing for getting back to me right away, I appreciate it very much. I did contact the GoPro help center and told me to reformat it which I did. Second, I was contacted by the GoPro by them that I have to ship back the GoPro with my own expense and they would try to fix it, however, if they can't fix it then I would have to pay again to be shipped back to me with my own expense. TBH, I basically tried every thing and I don't know what to do. And I don't really want to risk of spending so much money by sending it not knowing it can't be fixed. Plus they told me that since my GoPro is over two years, they can't replace it for me which is a bummer. 😔😔😔 Thank you again 🙏

@@HelgaBabushka sorry to hear that. If you have a iFix store near you it would be a greater shop for repair or for checkup. Or any store that is partnered with gopro for repair.

Thank u sir. I use hero 4,5 and after a long time I took it out for a trip and my GoPro was not charging nor it was turning ON. I suspected battery but you confirmed it. Thanks a lot sir.

try removing the battery and plug in your charger then turn it on. if it turns on then maybe the battery is faulty and need to replace.

I had the same issue with a brand new GoPro, but I was able to fix the original battery by using some good old fashion saliva. The battery refused to charge and the GoPro didn’t even recognize that a battery was in it, however, once I licked the metal part on the bottom of the battery and stuck it in the GoPro it magically started working. Hopefully this helps someone lol.

Sooo, this video helped me out with the battery issues, but my GoPro won't even turn on with the battery out and plugged in. Does that mean I have to break down and buy a new one?

No you don’t have to. Please contact gorpo customer support via chat, they can help you replace your gopro like mine

Does it really need a 5min video to tell us to change the battery man?

My GoPro Hero 5 suddenly dead.. it just wont charge with the battery in.. or even without the battery when connected to charging cable it will not boot up even holding the power on mode button (I even tried without the SD card) do you have any fix to the problem?????????

POSSIBLE SOLUTION: So I have watched every video on KZread with no luck.. I follow the steps exactly and nothing! I have a hero 7 that wouldn’t turn on. Like I previously said I’ve done everything I could find online, I have 5 hero 7’s and this is the only one that wouldn’t turn on, I’ve tried other charging cables, I’ve tried switching batteries NOTHING!! BUT ITS FIXED! And here’s what I did, I removed the battery, removed the flash card, reinstalled the battery, (did not put the card back in) and plugged in the charging cable in my Apple 2a wall charger. 20min later I hit the mode button to see if it turns on and the sucker turned on! This hero 7 hasn’t worked in almost a year!! And now it’s as good as new. If you are experiencing the same problem and the 10 second button hold doesn’t work try what I did!!

We have finally located THE NEXT EINSTEIN !!

Hmm I will advice to contact gopro chat support they might replace you're gopro same as mind and to my friend's gopros.

You need to hold down the power button that's how you turn it on

My hero 8 no red light. Still getting hot.

Light comes on. Then right back off. Took battery out, turns on without it...

3 years later. this video probably gave me an excuse not to buy the newer gopro. time to find other means to wreck my gopro hero 5. lol

Same thing on mine Hero 5 won't turn on. I've only used it about 4 times but it's over a year so I'm probably out of luck. Even bought a new battery, but nothing :-\

It might be damaged by water. Try contacting customer service mine, was replace with new gorpo hero 5 when I reported my problem.

Additional question is your new battery original? or third party. Last time when I try the third party it didn't show any life.

It's some bullshit that GoPro sells cameras with dogshit batteries you can't use or charge out the box. Fucking $250 piece of tech that can't be used with in a couple hours of receiving.
