    Really enjoyed your part 1 squeak video, and now part 2. On my non serpentine belt I would only get temporary quiet belt for a day or to, and then a return of the chirping. Now weeks or months later it is quiet. I wonder if its the warm weather now in the north east that could be responsible quiet belt? Thank you for your reply's and being a master teacher in the you tube classroom. All the best!!

    So glad I could help so many peope with these videos! Weather, temperature, and humidity definitely has a big effect on rubber components. It is also very important to inspect all your components and bearings that could be causing your sqeak as well. Water pumps are very common as well as tensioner and idler pullys. They can also create an intermittent sqeak. Ive also seen brand new belts start sqeaking in a matter of days. Poor quality rubber or value belts are very low quality and a problem as well. I put a huge amount of time to edit, film and upload all these videos and I'm glad they have helped so many people from all across the world. As always thank you for supporting my KZread channel.

    I have a Gen1 2000 Honda crv, my alternator belt (one of three) brand new belt squeals on startup only for a second, had it tentioned twice but a few hours after and about 5 restarts it squeals again! My car doesn't have an auto tensioner and the noise drives me crazy.

    Put a new belt, but before i did i checked all components and they all made no sound or neded replacement. When i put the new belt it made no noise for about 30 secs, but it continues. I had tried the grease on the previous belt and no avail, should i try it on the new belt?

    Chevy suburban 5.3 here. Almost 220k. I've have over the last few years replaced the power steering pump, tensioner and idler (not just the pulley), alternator, water pump, and a couple different brand (dayco and continental) belts. My squeal started with a power steering pump blowout. I figured the belt got contaminated, replaced the belt and thoroughly cleaned the pulleys. I think it was the alignment of the power steering pump pulley is a tiny bit off and it causes the belt to 'sing' under certain conditions (cool damp). Re-aligned this by pressing the pulley on a mm more. Definitely the tensioner and idler were bad bearings too at some point, slightly different noise. Probably a chirp coming from the alternator bearing. Water pump was just starting to leak a bit but didn't make noise. But the singing squeal always comes back driving me nuts. Tried the soap. Belt dressing. The spray water test confirmed it was not a pulley bearing. Just belt noise. I think the PS is still not perfectly aligned and it rubs the side of the pulley ever so slightly. Using a sparing amount of this CRC dielectric did the trick. I keep the spare belts in the vehicle and even a spare tensioner. And tools to change the belt if necessary, something I have gotten pretty good at.

    I tried EVERY trick online to stop the squeak- deodorant, soap, belt dressing, powder, oil, replaced the belt and pulleys and the only thing that stopped the squeak for more than a day was dielectric grease. So far I'm 5 days squeak free with the dielectric grease.

    Having the same issue on my Chrysler 2013 200. I've recently replaced the serpentine belt had no choice because it slipped off prior. Art first i thought it was because my upper radiator hose broke off on the right side from the t connector. Then the water pump went out soon thereafter. So i replaced the serpentine belt along with the tensioner pulley and idle pulley. My mechanic replaced all said parts this nose like started a couple days later. I don't have the funds to take it back but I'm afraid that i might put too much on. So would you reccomend the spray lubricant or is this one better?

  • @DrDemp

    @DrDemp

    2 жыл бұрын

    If it only makes noise only when it'd raining this fix will not work for you. Usually a rain only squeak or squall is caused by the side engine undershield/splash shield for the belt may be damaged / cracked / or missing. If you look past your passenger tire with your wheel cut to either side and can see your belt from the inner fender well. Or the shield is not attached properly at the bottom which is very common can also cause this. Hope this helps!

My experience I've went 6-12 months on one application. Check out my part 1 for more tips and tricks. Thanks for supporting my channel! 👍🏻
