FIVE +120LB BLUEFIN CAUGHT on a FULL DAY! Bluefin Tuna Fishing Aboard Pride Sportfishing!
Ойын-сауық
I can't believe I finally have not only seen one fish this size in person hit the deck of a boat, but FIVE fish this size, and ON A FULL DAY TOO!
I wasn't one of the lucky ones to land one of these giants, but i was beyond stoked to be able to be apart of an epic trip like this!
There is some truly amazing things happening in our Southern California waters the last couple years, and its really special to be able to witness it first hand.
This trip officially marks the most epic day of fishing I have ever been apart of!
As always thank you to Captain Jason and the crew aboard the Pride. without you guys, none of this will be possible.
And another big thank you to Danny for always putting together these trips and getting us on the water!
make sue to give him a Follow on instagram, for updates on all the future trips to hopefully get on board with us one of these times.

Lol bluefin are definitely assholes for sure. No need to sugar coat it! When they’re picky, just gotta fish and fish hard. Figure out the pattern, figure out what they want and you can be rewarded. They’re not my preferred fish the target, but it’s definitely rewarding everytime I’m able to land one!
Really like your stretches of no commentary followed by real commentary when near or landing of fish.

With all the fish and blood in the water, are there not any sharks around looking to steal a meal?
@Dirty.Hookers
Жыл бұрын
Here in SoCal we have more issues with sea lions than sharks. Occasionally a big mako shark will find us, and we’ll lose a fish or 2. But not too often
First off, that was nicely done on the 4/0 by Danny (I think that was his name). Second, did you get a talica? Also, on your sinker rig, do you fly line a bait first and then rubber band a sinker on or did it just slide up the line? I noticed you still had like 60 yds of line out when they cut the sinker off.
@Dirty.Hookers
3 жыл бұрын
I’ve had a talica for acouple years now, just never had the opportunity to use it. I bring it on all of my tuna trips though. With the sinker rig, you rubber bad the sinker to the flouro connection knot so it’s only about 4-6ft of leader to your sinker. As you fight the fish it slowly makes its way up the line though.

I'm pretty new to surface iron fishing (and fishing in general) but I started going deep sea fishing with my uncle's this year. I've been using their old rods with spinning reel. What setup would you recommend for a beginner? I suck with baitcasters and conventional reels lol
@Dirty.Hookers
3 жыл бұрын
For a beginner, I would recommend starting off with a Lexa 400, komodo 400, or fathom 400. All 3 are baitcasters, but if you tension the spool really tight from the start and loosen it up as you get more and more comfortable you’ll be fine. I was really nervous to cast conventional and baitcasters myself and I got a Daiwa Lexa 400 a few years back and now I can cast conventional no problem

What rod # do you need for this?
@Dirty.Hookers
2 жыл бұрын
For these 100+ lb fish you you’ll want a rod rated for 60lb and up. Most of us were using 50lb sinker rigs thinking we were on a school of 50lb tuna which wasn’t ideal. It got the job done, but if you’re targeting 100-200 lb fish, you’ll want a 80-120 lb rail rod

If I remember correctly, I don’t believe we had any tangles on fish on this trip. Everyone worked together really well this trip. Nobody really had to say “coming down”, “under”, “over” too much. Everyone stepped back, lifting rods way before someone fighting a fish even got to them. Honestly great team effort this trip and best case scenario with all these bigger fish!
