Hi Peter great to see the mods. I had the powerflex bushes fitted when my r50 minis clutch was changed a while ago and it made a noticeable improvement so adding all the other mods you also added, the handling should be spectacular. Nice video as always.

Another brilliant video. “While it’s apart we might as well do this, this & this”. Saves money in the long run. From a young age I have always had an interest in cars and from school I wanted to be a mechanic. I tried a car maintenance course which only served to enforce the fact I couldn’t do it due to my disability. It’s still intriguing to watch. 👍🏻

Hi Pete, excellent video. It's time to cancel your order for the new GP3 Mini it won't be a patch on Ruby now. Everything you have done to Ruby will just blow your mind the Quaife LSD especially but having the geometry set up properly along with the suspension adjustments she will now be a serious road and track monster. I use the mintex myself. The 1144 are a sensible road pad that can handle a reasonable amount of track work without completely falling apart.

That was a big days work and surely a big bill! If all that had been available in 1969 and for my Mini...well we shall never know now! I hope the drive home brought smiles and a job well done! We await the follow up video!!!😎😎😎😎

It's really refreshing to see work done on a "normal" car over supercars. Absolutely loved the way you filmed it too. I'm thinking about upgrading the clutch and flywheel in my audi Dont care if it ruines the daily drive about it... I just want the full on feel Love you man Ed

See you at Donington! Ruby is getting too much varoom for the public highway. So interesting to see exactly how everything is fitted. Never imagined they had to take so much apart. You made good choice in getting those other bits done while the car was there.You don`t want to be fitting a new clutch after a couple of months!!! Look forward to seeing you drive her.

Awesome upgrades and I'm looking forward to the first drive video. As for all the extra upgrades: I warned you in a reply to an earlier video. Once you go this way, there is no turning back! I recently had my suspension and front suspension arms upgraded and after your video's I'm seriously considering a limited slip diff. My Abarth Comp has the electronic version (TTC) and I have to figure out if the two don't conflict.

Great video

I hope you managed to shoot a video of all those lovely Mini's Lohen had in the workshop. I shudder to think how much that day out cost. Certainly an easier job with the proper tools and access. Great vid keep the Mini stuff coming. I have fitted an engine undertray to my Mini and is a worth while addition for a clean engine bay and better aerodynamics.

Hi! Awesome video and I can’t wait to see the first drive it’s going to be totally transformed! I did notice that occasionally when you were filming the process the music in the background (playing in the garage) was quite clear! Only saying this as I know KZread are coming down hard on people for copyright issues with music in videos! Wouldn’t want you to have to deal with the messy side of copyright if avoidable! Its tricky when you want to show the process but just something to bear in mind! Amazing video as always!!

Some of them make sense while the car is in bits. That is the challenge with fitting a diff, it's a lot of work but well worth it 👍

Hi Peter, the guys at that place must love you as that days work must have cost you a small fortune in parts and the labour must have been eye watering. I hope your very happy with changes you have made it should handle and stop so much better. Question how much more are you planning to do as at this rate when you get the new Mini you will not feel much difference if any at all at this rate. Best Wishes Alan B 👏👏👍👍✌️✌️

Petrol Ped you have the mod bug Peter at this rate Ruby will not be recognisable. I recon before the end of the year you will have a MAP and a stage 3 upgrade as the guys will make you see the benefits and you will be pushing Mac 1 with your hair on fire 🔥 and the car will get down the road like a stabbed rat running for its life. 😂😂👍👍❤️❤️

Undoubtedly, an expensive day out.

Great video. Would be interested in what the settings were + the reason for the rake change? Increasing the rake is usually adjusted to help with high-speed understeer.

Hola Pedro! Rob here, it was great to meet you at ECC two weeks ago, loving your content! How does it make you feel when so many major parts of your beloved Ruby are removed and laid bare like that? I would be sweating a bit if I was watching all that work being done, I think. 5:30 _"We'll put the new unit next to that so you can see the diff...erence"_ I see what you did there.😁 Really excellent modifications Pedro, it must be so satisfying to do so many upgrades at once? The Chaps at Lohen did superb work. Oh, and I see you have an IAM sticker on the windscreen? So we have advanced driving in common as well!😉

Love all the transformations you have done. I too have a R59 JCW (Lupo)and would like to know. What changes you would make in order of importance if like me you want a fast road car not a track day car.

I'd go Diff first probably. My car was running 239bhp standard when dynod so the diff would help get that down even more efficiently. I'd then do coilovers for better looking stance and handling. Then wheels and tyres as that completes the look.With the Performance Pack 2 from Lohen I got the tune and 100 cell Cat at the same time. I might even do that last and then you will definitely need the clutch 🤔

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐GREAT CONTENT

The Mini Roaster, is, I think a upcoming classic. They never sold as many as expected and is a nice little car, especially in the spec yours car is.

Great video and I can understand why you got so many bits done at the same time, but it would’ve been nice to get a view of what marginal change you’ve noticed from each upgrade in isolation. Is there anything else that you would like to put the car through now? Surely with an upgraded clutch, LSD etc you could go to a stage 3 Lohen remap? Keep up the good work fella - watching these videos makes me love my JCW more even if it is an impractical family car.

I agree but that would have been very expensive to do sadly. I don't want any more power, believe me she has plenty now. For the 300+ bhp I will wait for my GP3 👍

Sod’s law that stuff adds on top, then a bit more, plus a little more, resulting in a slightly more expensive bill, albeit worth while though.

How much camber on the rear wheels 🤤🤤🤤 even the race car didn't have that much, new tyres every couple of thousand miles

We made major adjustments to both toe and camber on front and back. It feels very different now 👍

good vid thanks , enjoyed , but at 4:40 that was not an "engine coming out the bottom of the car." heads up Ped thats a gear box , also at 7:39 you said you were putting on a duel mass fly wheel . but really you removed a duel mass and fitted a light single mass .

Nice. How much heavier do you reckon the LSD is compared to your open diff? Did you also upgrade your synchros since you pretty much opened your gearbox?

I didn't weight them but there isn't much in it. Nothing changed in the gearbox itself 👍

Before were the height setting they came with out of the box and stiffness set at half way between Hard and Soft. We put 15mm on the rear and 5mm on the front. Stiffness now half way between Soft and Mid 👍

Isn't the lightweight flywheel going to mean it's a pig in traffic? The poly bushes make the ride harder, but I do like the LSD. You have told your insurance company, haven't you... ;-)

So far the flywheel hasn't caused a problem and yes my insurance have been fully informed. The only thing that increase my premium was the engine remap 👍

I plan to do a diff change soon, does the backlash need set or just a case of dropping it into the box and away you go?

I didn’t fit it but pretty sure it’s a fit and go. Drop Quaife an email. I’m sure they would give advice 👍

Get the thing weighing less than 1000Kg. replace body panels with carbon fibre, replace glass with perspex, get rid of the poncy ineterior.

With LSDs like that you can actually see into your brain not just your gear box :) Get in :)

What were the main DIFFerences you found post install of the LSD? Mine is being fitted on the 20.01 cannot wait.

The Diff and clutch together have made such a difference. You can feel the diff on corner exit, the power goes down so much better and you feel the car pulling you up the road rather than feeling power being wasted through the unloaded wheel. It is also more stable under heavy braking, especially engine braking, and the torque steer has been reduced. The clutch just means the car can cope with the extra power and torque I now have 👍

Clean the subframe?

Oh look. We erm.... found a hole in the Aux belt. Must have been one of those tool shaped stones that did that.

Interesting. How are you going to feel if you've now turned Ruby into a better handling car than the GP3 you're getting?
