Really like those new wheels and tires. Always like the look and feel of a good knobby wheel that will give a lot of grip. Looks amazing and makes the van look more rugged. Nicely done.

You got all terrains also? They make such a difference to the drive, and with all the sound deadening and insulation, hardly any road noise 🤷🏼‍♂️

Worth every penny for the upgrade, had the van in for its tracking to be done today also! Such a difference to the whole drive with new alloys, tyres and the tracking! Glad you like them 👍🚐

Archie And Me , I saw on one of your previous vlogs that you had trouble with the electrics - a fuse I think you said. Is that because you tried to use one of the free spaces in the door pillar fuse box? I’m hoping to use one for the relay on my step so I can’t drive off with it open but am bit weary of taping straight in on these modern vehicles!!!

@@michellebouchard8454 I was cutting through the flooring underlay under the passenger seats and accidentally nicked a wire, this blew the fuse module and eventually had to replace the whole control module!

Love Archie! Our van build is totally designed around travelling with our dogs too. So great to see so many van lifers with dogs.

I'd def get someone to go poking around first rather than do what I did, a costly mistake that affected my overall budget to covert the van :(

HI mate, the job cost well over £1000 for tyres and wheels, but so worth it, the tyres will last ages on road or off terrain.. these should be good for our adventures around Europe in nearly all conditions!

Great Vid. You mention in your description make sure to go for 215/75/R16 size tyre but in the vid at 3.48 I can see they are 215/65/R16?? Can you please clarify which is it to go for? Thanks

225/75/r16 on 16 inch alloys and laid rated for the van

I’m looking at fitting the Maxxis Wormdrive AT980E to my boxer - I don’t want to upgrade to 16s and few options is either a smaller profile 205 (from 215 standard) or 235/75 r15 do you think this would be ok for no rubbing still? The load rating is 104 giving 900 a tyre so should be fine at 3600 I have the 335 L3H2 - sorry for the long message but it’s a mine field haha any advice is appreciated 🙏🏻😊

Your best bet is to speak to the guys at Rogue Alloys here: www.roguealloy.co.uk/ they will be able to advise you on the right load rated tyre for your van.. I only know about BF Goodrich tyres 🛞

No problems with them in the snow... but as any tyres on the ice not so good...

Great videos mate I just finished binging on all of them. I’m 80% through converting a transit van and some of your how to videos have been very relevant for me. I’m curious about your old van and assuming how much money and effort you put into it did you sell it for enough to cover the costs of the conversion ? Not looking for specifics just whether you got your money back, broke even or made a profit.

My old van and I think I made a small profit when I sold, but only a small one as I wanted the old van sold quick so I could buy the new van... vans are selling like hot cakes at the moment and I had to move quick to get the new one. Thanks mate, it’s the same where I am with van prices going through the roof I bought mine before the whole pandemic fiasco (luckily) I’m just finalising my setup working on the principal that I don’t put stuff in the van unless I absolutely have to eg. I haven’t put in a sink or a permanent cooktop thinking I can get by with a portable gas burner and collapsible bucket as a sink. I’ve done a few trips away to test my setup and learn something new every time. I’m looking to go full time van living in late October.

Well while I was born in the UK I am now living in the colonies (Down Under) so the weather issues here are more about keeping cool as opposed to the challenges you guys face over there. We certainly don’t need diesel heaters etc but we do all have fans and air conditioning in our vans. I would love to come back to UK at some stage and live the van life over there for a while.

Hi, have you changed the tire sizes when fitting A/T tires or used the original size? My camper is a 2011 Ducato and the original size is 215x75x16 and the load index is 116. I want Bf's but there is only 225x70x16 option here and the load index is 102. Do you have any stability or durability problems? Do you still suggest?

The wheels have been great, never had any issues, the tyres have been the best, will never go back to anything else apart from BF Goodrich! Had my first set of tyres on 3 years now, and only just replaced the front tyres... best purchase for the van!

BF Goodrich will go on standard wheels, just got to make sure you get the right load rated tyre for you van!

I have fitted new MSW light alloy rims with 30mm wheel spacers and sumo springs with BF Goodrich K2 All Terrain tyres (same size as stock) to my Fiat Ducato Adria MH. My mechanic tells me that this setup will affect the auto transmission as the compound in the K2’s and the spacers will create extra stress on the trans. Also worried about wheel bearings etc. Anybody have any issues/experience with this type of setup? If so any advice (I don’t want to hear stupid to put these on..)

Hi order tyres Bfgoodrich 225 75 16 just now. Did you have any problems with your speedo..or rubbing not cheap wheels 600euro tyres 680euro...1280 euro.. 1.110pounds..did you pay the same we getting ripped off over here cheers for all you help

I checked the overall rolling diameter and the tyres are unsafe. can't see why you'd use all terrain tyres as your van aint a 4x4. its just a van. better to go with road tyres van rated. all season. but hey its your choice. be carefull round those corners

@@spikecorser5661 The price of vans keeps rising mate due to Covid, it been a nightmare for sure! I was lucky I found a van, made an offer and got the next day after selling my old van! Hope you manage to find a van to convert, its a great process and once done, the freedom is so worth it!

The tyres in the video are not the correct tyres, but that was not my mistake.. they were removed and then re fitted with the correct tyres the next day.. 225/75/R16 fully load rated for the van!

@@PackTheVanAndGo Thanks, I am considering a similar upgrade, but my reasons are based on the state of UK roads. I was up in Wales recently and the roads were is a shocking state and I imagine Scotland is a similar condition. Bigger rims and tyres add weight. Decisions...

@@CarlJones14 I was up in Scotland over Dec/Jan and I am so glad I had these wheels & tyres, got me out of a few situations.. the higher road clearance of the van, the grip of the tyres in snow and wet mud... and the overall ride quality has improved since having them fitted... So for me, having these wheels & tyres, is money well spent as I will be back in Scotland for winter this year!

I bet I'm the minority here but am I the only person who would keep the original steel wheels and put on the all terrain tyres on them tyres like this is no fact at all will be the opposite but the new wheels you put on in this video look cheap and tacky where as If he had these tyres on the standard wheels yes heavier but would looks and woukd be more rugged and aggressive looking , also lightweight wheels on a van there's no bonuses to that as these vans aren't fast anyway :p but yes I understand not many people will agree with what I'm saying but if you do like my comment just to see what u all think :l) the wheels he got installed on this van remind me of 2007 Halfords wheels that people used to put on boyracer 1.2L's would have looked better with the original wheels he had on at the start of the video
