Thank you for these videos. You’ve helped me assemble mine (routing of cables) and given me some ideas surrounding maintenance.

Thx and good luck with the set up. Not sure if you saw my first video, but I'd advised unpacking everything outside of your home if you are able to ... as there were lots of metal balls/pellets that fell out everywhere.

Hey Nice review, just a heads up, WD40 is basically a degreaser, I would toss either 3in1oil, or a light lithium grease on the upright so that it doesn't rust, WD40 just exacerbates rusting as it only hangs around for a bit.

Why do you need to store your stuff in the back of the machine if you hit your head store them outside of the machine.

Hey nice video, I was thinking of purchasing this machine but I very tight for space. Could you confirm that the max height is 83 inches tall with the pull up bar reversed like in your video. Also is the Smith bar 84 inches wide? On the website it states 84 for width, is that accurate. Thanks

Excellent follow up review. Your review has us most likely buying this machine very soon. The back weight storage plate pegs will not be installed on setup. You made a great point about durability and a plate tree makes sense. I’m glad to see the cabling has lasted and your info about rust protection probably just saved a lot of people from going down that road. I have a question. We have a small space where we think this would fit in well. I see the dimensions listed online but I’m wondering what the overall length of the smith machines bar tip to tip is? Thanks again

Hi there, thx for feedback. If you don’t install the back posts to store plates there is still a crossbar on the back to add rigidity that sticks out, so total depth is 60”. The smith attachment bar is 77”, but keep in mind you need space to put the plates on so I would say you need at least 92” or you’ll be adding plates one handed. We have about 96” of space width wise. The height with the chin up bar inverted is 84”, but if your ceiling is that high you won’t be able to do chin-ups. Our ceiling is 92”.

Hi 🙂 If you still have this machine, can you tell me the floor base mesurement ? Like the lenght of the red foot bar on the floor and the wideness of the floor foot of the machine ? Thanks

Awesome review! Just one question: are you able to perform lat pull downs on either side of the pulley system? Or will the machine be imbalanced?etc?

I just tried it out so I could respond to you as we use another piece of equipment for cable lat pull downs. It seems to work well when kneeling on the ground. I don’t think you’ll have enough cable length off you want to sit on a bench. I also only tried it with 70 lbs (2 x 35 lbs plates).

Forgot to add, no imbalance at weight of 90 lbs. But we also keep plates loaded on both sides of the back

Nice review. Just have one question, I understand that there are bearings in the Smith Machine portion of the machine. Are there also bearings in the plate load vertical stack, or do those feel more like bushings?.

  • @adventureswithplatesglasse1204

There seem to be bearings in the pulleys that support the cable for use with Olympic plates. I’m assuming this because they are very smooth and silent compared to the smith machine.

The guide Rods for the plat loaded trolleys are on bushings, but they're really smooth, the pulleys themselves are 90mm alloy with sealed bearing races.

Are the pulleys adjustable to the bottom of the rack in order to do exercises where you pull them up?

Wow. I take it that you never used a Smith machine untill now? Lol. All cables have weight. Every gym you goto and there cables all have a resistance.

I’ve avoided smith machines as they do not allow for a natural movement, so I’ve only done squats with free weights. Except the few times where I had done very heavy sets where I did a leg press machine. Regarding resistance for pulleys, on higher end plate machines the resistance is minor until you add the weights. But this machine is still good bang for the buck.
