Here is why I personally chose the Fisker One. Several things you listed in your video. I wanted a versatile utility vehicle and to be an EV, having solid range. Good looking, but also a work horse. I plan to use it for many things, but has to be a good work vehicle. So, the interior was important that it be built a certain way. I didn't want a true looking Luxury look like a Mercedes, I wanted what this car was about, a vegan luxury that I don't mind getting dirty, but clean up nicely. So, the features like the slide down rear glass for me to slide things in was very, very important. Storage under the rear compartment was important. I like good sound and love the idea of the solar roof to increase range and is just so damn cool! I fill out invoices in my vehicle so I hope the taco tray will serve a purpose, rather than take up usable storage in the center console I would prefer to have. The polestar has a good look until it gets to the rear. For me, the Ocean from front to back works great together as that aww factor look through and through that will maintain for years. Polestar look will fade. If I could have stolen a feature of the Polestar, it would be the air ride. Have that in my truck, love it!

Fisker is more the BMW X5, Polestar 3 the Cayenne Coupe typ of car. Great comparison from your side. I would add experience of manufacturer to the list: wil Fisker be really able to develop the complex software of an e-car? Polestar has not even sorted out the enormous problems with P2…

I had an 89 S-10 Blazer with the 4.3 in it. It was an absolute tank! I jumped that thing several times and bashed my way through trails with it. Aside from oil changes, breaks and tires, I only ever had to replace the alternator. It was by far the most reliable vehicle I ever owned. I still think of it fondly. Of course I was driving it when gas prices were sub $1.00 per gallon.

I think Ocean gets even more points in utility category because of the rear roof line. The rear cargo area of the Polestar 3 is compromised by that roof line. Now that said, if I had $95k or so laying around to spec out a mid level Polestar 3, I would be very happy to have one. No denying it’s a fantastic looking car that would be a privilege to drive. But for my 49k budget? Ocean is an easy easy pick.

Fantastic review of two interesting possibilities, I can’t wait to see these two on the road and then you can do a real in life comparison! I can’t agree more with your point about being a reservation holder thus far, I really wish I knew more actual specs about things like the onboard cpu speed for the HMI as well as more information about how their version of “sentry mode” will actually work.

You had me laughing with the "boring" section of the video. 🤣I stand by my Fisker Ocean Ultra order, as it's the best bang for the buck! 💰Don't know if you caught Fiskerati's Paris show of the pre-production Horizon Gray, but the "videographer" mentioned they confirmed there's a tow hitch that will "fold out" when in use and be covered when not in use. Excellent video and I like both new vehicles coming the ocean and the Polestar 3... The key to either company success will be when can they deliver it and the final pricing and quality and service... The delays are frustrating for stockholders as both companies will be up against the lucid gravity in the years ahead and I'm sure Ford and GM and all the other big automakers are going to come out with their own SUVs at the same time... It's important for these startups to get their vehicles out in the marketplace not just talk about them

I couldn’t agree with you less on each point. I am however considering leasing a polestar 3. Fisker won’t sell in my country any time soon. The Polestar however can be ordered. Price: the Polestar is really interesting to lease here, I know if I order now when I’ll get the car. We definitely have a different view on sport, quality, comfort style etc. Normally I wouldn’t even consider an SUV, but the range is sufficient, leasing is lower than an EQE and above all: it should be really comfortable and fast enough. As for the rear window on the Fisker: my dog would have jumped out.

Fun video! I think the Polestar should get a point for actually deliveing vehicles! I own a Polestar 2 and love it, the Fisker is still vaperware. I love the look of the Ocean and hope they actually start to deliver them soon!

I agree. It sounds like on technology Fisker will handedly beat the Polestar 3. I own a Polestar 2 and it feels like they were going for simplicity to pull in traditional ICE owners (no camp mode, limited phone app, minor improvements with OTA updates). Polestar 3 will be a step up for sure but they keep mentioning the Cayenne as their benchmark.

For me a big problem with the Polestar3 is where it is made……………. I appreciate many cars contain Chinese made components but at least they are not assembled there as well. BMW is now exporting production of my beloved Mini S E EV out to Great Wall in China with the next generation of Mini going to be based on the Ora Kat EV and built out there too.

@@Aslash304 Country of origin of Polestar is Sweden. Now, the factory that makes the early Polestar 3s will be China. But in time, the factory that makes them will be in South Carolina, USA. If you get a Tesla Y somewhere in the world the factory that makes them may be California, Texas, Berlin Germany or Shanghai China. But the country of origin is the USA.

The Sport is indeed a trim level of the Fisker Ocean. It's the entry level model. The Ocean lineup goes: One - Extreme, Ultra - Sport.

Polestar 3 Base price for my area is a laughable $98,000. I ain’t buying any vehicle for that kind of money. But the Fisker website sucks because I can’t use their configure feature. That might be stopping many people from even looking at the ocean.

Well, all this does is prove your bias. Comfort, Volvo has some of the most comfortable seats in the industry (these are Volvo seats in this car) plus this Polestar has a sophisticated air suspension. Luxury, have you sat in each car to feel the materials to see how premium an impression you get? It's just you like the Fisker better so you make a case for it. To me, these cars aren't even comparable. The Polestar is in a different price category so utility for this "coupe" SUV doesn't matter as much as how it'll drive and feel. I think Fisker Ocean may be better compared to the Polestar 4 but more so, a more utility design type of vehicle than a "designer" car like the Polestar 3.

@@Aslash304 I like the hype. An EV starting under $40K, right now is a clear winner for many people. Fisker can somehow deliver a quality car then I think they would win out. But I am like many people, highly skeptical. If we cant see full reviews and use cases, then the hype is just that. I would love it if Fisker would release a car for a reviewer to drive 10K miles! Side note: I like that Fisker's AWD is NOT full time AWD, to conserve on battery range. This seems to be detail allot of other EV makers aren't completely focused on.

Key is WHAT companies can EXECUTE & ship volume quality product... TSLA is #1 for sure... PSNY, GM, F, other major companies already doing more... Fisker worries me for can they ship asap quality & volume... They are NOT there yet... I hope all succeed as I have invested in ALL... Key is how many people will pay, $ 40, 50, 60, 70 K for next EV ????????? TSLA may announce a $ 35K car soon... I am worried about all the start-up... FSK, PSNY, LCID, MULN, will need a lot - I mean a lot of financial backing to make it more then 1-2 years... Time will tell...

Great Question! I have a Blazer EV reserved myself! I think the Blazer will suffer from markups on the launch vehicles, and the first wave of trims will be high spec, so for $49,999 US, the Ocean Ultra is the best deal right now. Polestar makes gorgeous vehicles. Fisker will make a so so looking SUV. (Its actually not even so so looking in my opinion.) Polestar isnt for consumers who were also considering a Jeep Wrangler--maybe the Ocean is. Fisker is marketing you a future dream but Polestar is already there. I liked your video and appreciate the bias, but even with the obvious bias, polestar scored very well. My advice, buy some PSNY while its only $4.50/share.

I put my money down on the Polestar 3 - Here's why - 1) I locked in a price. I most likely will not get my car until early 2024, but I paid a 2022 price for it. With inflation the way it is, I believe the car will be at least 12k more by that time. I do not believe the Ocean's price is guaranteed, I could be wrong. 2) The polestar 3 has gone through the EPA testing to get its range of 300 miles per charge. It has a 111kw battery to help it get that relatively decent range. The Ocean is claiming a 350 mile range, which seems unrealistic. How does an Ocean get 50 miles more range with a battery that is 31KW less in size. I think the Ocean's EPA range will be closer to 275 when all the testing is completed. 3) The Ocean has 60,000 reservations on file. The goal is to make 30,000 cars in 2023. With supply chain issues that everyone is having and the length of the list, I expect the 60,0001st car will be delivered in mid-2025. I don't want to wait that long. Look, I think they are both going to be great SUVs and choosing between two is the definition of a first world problem where there is no wrong answer. I'm really happy that Tesla will have some good competition. Maybe Elon will finally shut up a little.

@@andyyg I read it on their website, but I could have missed that there was a larger battery available. Unless the Polestar has motors that are less efficient than the Ocean, I don't see how it gets so much more range with a smaller battery.

@@amirrakha5746 Efficiency of the motors is probably the least issue. Aerodynamics and weight is probably the most important factors. Not saying the ocean is the most aerodynamic car from the looks of it but HF is a clever designer so it might be better than the Polestar. Also WLTP says 630km vs 615km in favour of the Ocean (not massive). Polestar 3 is almost 300kg heavier than the Ocean. So to me it could add up.

​@@amirrakha5746 Also let me add, that I am a fan of Polestar. Have a Polestar 2 myself, love it but changing it for a One. Polestar 3 would had been high up on my wishlist if it was not for the price, I can't justify 20k€ more for a base model P3 over the Ocean One.

In the long run Polestar will live and frisker will die

Polestar 3 design WINS big time over OCEAN... Ocean will be bought about CA... Ocean, etc., but, they have 0 - high volume manufacturing... PSNY has made 100,000 vehicles... PSNY wins...

Polestar is a WAY better design then the fisker . Smoother but more angular at the same time. Aerodynamics far superior. Sustainable and classy/showy 22’ rims with it all …. Nope Polestar has the way better design.

This isn't a Head to Head comparison due to the large price gap between the two EV's the fisker is the winner on value alone 👍
