This is why I love this movie because it’s a kids movie with some darkness in it. The type of cartoons I love

I just saw this movie like last week. I cant believe this didn't do better. This is now my go to "show everyone new you meet this movie" movie.

I know who plays the Professor. It is Terry Jones who was in Monty Python and The Wind In The Willows! My mum saw Terry Jones once in East Dulwich (that's where I live) walking at the bank near her and she told me about it.

Someone bring back my childhood- but honestly best film I’ve ever seen the emotion was amazing and the actors have a raw talent you can’t find in todays animations with a good storyline and some darkness that they definitely won’t show in kids stuff anymore much a Tom and jerry vibe as far as the jokes go that slip past kids, and the songs are all pretty catchy

I wonder if anyone's ever tried this recipe in real life. I doubt it would actually turn you into a fish, but it probably would make you vomit (at best).

I remember watching this movie as a kid on a CD, it was a good movie and I would sometimes just get this song stuck in my head just like the Ducktales theme song.

After watching Steve Reviews I decided to listen to this song. I’m not disappointed🥰👍

This is the part that got me hooked on the movie (heh). The actor does a brilliant job here. All i can hear is a scientist who is in love with his work, filled with passion and whimsy while being a bit eccentric. I don't like musicals all that much, so I groaned when he started singing and now i keep humming this song to myself! It's just so amazing. fishtastic....

I love this on so many levels!

My sister's and brothers keep singing this song 🙂

Fan speculation time: If the kids had lost the potion to, like, a shark or in another random accident and had thus their transformation into fish became permanent…would they have retained their sapience and memories of having been human, or would they have lost those things forever and become ordinary, non-sapient fish?

I grew up with the Portuguese dub of this movie (my native idiom). I rewatched it today, and it really made me happy and nostalgic to know some of the lines. In my opinion, it's one of the best dubs, even though they didn't translate the songs, with exception of this one. These are the lyrics (⬇⬇⬇⬇), if someone's interested. Somehow I love how this potion follows some rules of alchemy. In a world were alchemy would work by creating potions with similar effects assoicated with its parts, this would in fact work.

This character should have been an full on alchemist instead of an "scientist". I mean: This movie has already so much fantasy, that there is no science-fiction sounding way to explain the things, so they could have rolled with the fantastic premisse and made the guy an crazy alchemist.

I'm now 15, still watching this movie. Been watching it since I was 1 😭

Personally i think the swedish one sounds better but maybe it's cause i grew up with it. One if not my favorite song in the movie :D I wonder what Nostalgia critic would think of the movie because there's a reason for the doctor to sing. They naturally get excited once they turn into fishes but they know they need to find the antidote.
