@@arthurbozelli4360 Yeah, ‘The Shadow over Innsmouth’. It’s been referenced a few times. The people are all sort of lumpy, pale skinned balding folks with small ears and huge eyes. Because they’re all human/Deep One hybrids that gradually get more ‘fishy’ as they age and then return to the sea. The town made a deal with the Deep Ones. The town gets sunken treasures and a bounty of fish, and the townsfolk get Uh, ‘acquainted’ with the Deep Ones.

@@julietfischer5056honestly a similar feel to real brands appearing in media, because due to copyright and such, they generally don’t. From many years of seeing them completely separate, it just feels weird for them to be put together. I never see people talk about this but it always weirds me out a bit when I see for example a mcdonalds store in a superhero film.

I watch this at least once a year

It's finally december 1st 2023, which means the opening season for Lovecraft's chrismas songs

To people who don't understand this and Don't know Lovecraft and "Shadow over insmouth" here's an explanation: The story is about a guy arriving into the town of "innsmouth". Located somewhere in Massachusetts. The town is full of locals that look like human with fish characteristics. The main character learns from some man that the town worships a fish god and as a ritual the humans mate with fish people. The kids are born human but throughout their life they develop fish like stuff until they become fully fish and in return the god provides the town good harvest season. It all started after Marshall of some navy contacted an island who's people worshipped the same god. Eventually the fish men attempt to kill the maim character for finding out their plan and the main character escapes (because plot armour). The story ends with innsmouth being raided by Police from nearby towns and the devil reef (which i remember is supposed to be fishmens underwater hideout) being bombarded and bombed. But ay the end it's revealed that the main characters grand grand parents were from insmouth and the main character also slowly develops the fish like features

When I first saw this video more than a decade ago I hadn't read any of Lovecraft's work. Having read Shadow Over Innsmouth now I have a greater appreciation for this charming musical adaption. Haha

Well in the shadow of insmouth novel he eventually turns into one because he was rooted by family ties, I don't think it really means that he joins them voluntarily ahah still a eery and funny novel, I laughed at the end when he's horrified by the fish men walking near the bush hes hidding in
