Fishing this *NEW* Alabama SALTWATER PIER for my DINNER!
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
The Ft Morgan, Alabama Pier has been closed for a while. They did renovations, Hurricane Sally, Supply Chain, and Labor shortages slowed down the renovations for a while! The State of Alabama has done an excellent job trying to get it open for everyone. Today was the GRAND OPENING of the "NEW" Ft. Morgan, AL. Pier. Fishing was great, ya'll join me as we fish and explore this great, beautiful structure here in Mobile Bay.

Went fishing on 10/16/2022 and my hook fell between a dime space gap on the dock I was fishing on…. So don’t feel bad.. made me laugh when you said a tiny gap. I couldn’t do that in a million tries.

Carp are the holy grail but pike perch and roach are together way bigger in the fishing community.
Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, kzread.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.
I wish so much every day that I could live in a place as beautiful as that.

I love your videos I started fishing about 3 months ago
What I love about your channel, is that I learn a lot about the fish and species. I am nowhere near an ocean, and you are always very informative about everything you do and catch. thanks!
Your the best youtuber ever keep up the work

I’m in Mobile and used to love Fort Morgan pier fishing. After spending the day fishing we would take the ferry over to Dauphin Island, do a little fishing behind the sealab before heading home. The new pier looks great!! We have grandkids now and don’t get to fish like we used to, especially since DI has made it impossible to fish from the shore now. Zero parking and beach access, it’s horrible. But your video has made me realize how desperate my soul needs to wet a hook.
really love these chill fishing videos
You are appreciated for uploading tons of content just letting you know that
Thanks for churning out the vids Bama. Look forward to you adventures.

I’ve learned from this guy then I have any other person that’s ever showed me how to fish he is awesome
Just a week too early to fish on that pier ,It would have been great to fish with dad at 82 he has a hard to walking that is why we fished Fairhope most of the time . Hopefully will get down there next year and get couple hundred whiting , white trout and beltfish . Those whiting are just good as our yellow perch and a lot easier to clean and make a killer po-boy or taco .🦈🦈🦈
I wish we had fishing in San Diego like you guys do in your state
Badass new pier! Great content as always!
Good to see a nice public facility like that instead of artistic sculptures or some hooey like that. Something useable is always good to see
Enjoyed hanging out on your vid.
What I love about saltwater baitcaster is on piers, I have better control of a diamond jig allowing me to cast further and open the bail whenever, great for mackrel
You are very lucky to be able to go fishing with your mom. And thank you for your service, sir! Greetings from Southern Michigan!
my fav fishing channel. you're such a likeable guy and a good fisherman. Keep it coming! Honestly I think a video of how you trip plan/get on your spot when you're on your boat would be cool.
This is what I’m talking about! If you teach working, provable technique with different artificial baits you’ll definitely set yourself apart from the other channels. I’ve been looking for HOW to fish with all these baits out that that promise their the next best thing to fishing. Thank you!!!

I'm more of a live bait guy these days, but went to the local catwalk on a dam between freshwater and saltwater bay without. Around a dozen scattered along it with the flounder moving in. Some were catching one here and there while using live shrimp just laying on the bottom. I used a VUDU with casting it, lay, move 4-5 inches, lay 15-30 seconds, and had my 5 limit in less than half an hour. There were some attitudes around as I left. They could of been doing the same thing with their live shrimp-when the pin fish weren't stripping it off the hook-but weren't.
Nice. I can't wait to go visit 😀
Love what you do. Can’t wait to try your lessons in my home country.
Loving your videos! I've fished and guided (Salmon/Steelhead) up here in the Pacific Northwest for many years. I've always preferred and have taught other fisherman to use left hand retrieve reels (for righties). It feels odd at first but it's easy to 'teach' your left hand to go around in little tiny circles leaving your power hand to work the rod. When casting you leave the rod in the same hand and don't need to keep switching back and forth from casting to reeling.
I’m actually going fishing in swan river tomorrow because it’s my birthday and I’m posting on my KZread channel 🥳 which is in Australia 🇦🇺 you’ve inspired me to start fishing and it’s my new favourite hobby! Thanks for the great content keep up the great work!
Nice pier and it has to be cool to go catching with your Mom, be safe .
Love using the Vudu shrimp. I've caught nearly every inshore species here in Texas with a VuDu shrimp.

I remember that old pier it actually claimed the life of a friend from school. I remember fishing from that pier after school when I went to Gulfshores high
@BamaSaltwater
11 ай бұрын
I do too. and that's unfortunate. Sorry to hear, i know it had claimed a few lives during the bad weather and due to the bad condition and not having rails. The wood really made for some good fishing, but at least it's safer now
I noticed that you mention that fish will hang out around structures when the water is not cold. In a wheelchair 260 miles from the gulf means I don't get down there but a friend suggested he would take me when he goes on vacation in December. I have never been to the Gulf around Christmas. What is fishing like on the piers or anywhere in or near Gulf Shores that is wheelchair accessible? I still have my salt water fishing gear.
Thats good water to gig in!
A mangrove, a flounder, and a lady fish walk into a bar . . . that's what I was thinking 🤣
That's a clean looking spot - I'm going to have to make my way out to the Alabama Pier one day! Keep up the good videos!

been watching ur vids for about two weeks straight now and you inspired my dad and i to try saltwater fishing again and weve been doing it for three days now. caught my first mackeral,he was obviously legal size w out measuring but i forgot to bring ice so i didnt keep him. yesterday was my dads birthday so we woke up very early and headed to fort desoto, fished the peir for a while, not much but then we went on a beach and i caught my first shark, bonnethead. god it was amazing and im glad ive been watching you so i had the right gear. i let him go although we had ice. thank you for putting out entertaining and educational content.

As a Northerner I enjoy your videos. We have NO idea what (BAIT) to use or Line Strength/ Sinker/ or Round Hook to use when we do get to saltwater. So, feel you can Talk Down to us and use your hands. Up North to use a 10lb. Line is, “Overkill”. Spend time showing us your set up. Thank You. Now on to Mc Donald’s for a fish sandwich and dream.
I live in Ocean Springs, MS; so I might have to bounce on over to Alabama and try some fishing at that new pier. Hooah!
Bama, you should do a couple of videos on using The Ugly Stick $50 combo. Pier, wall, and beach...just to show that it doesn't take a whole lot of money to get into some relaxed fishing.

That's awesome to hear man! And for sure, maybe this winter, I can record some technical fishing videos !
The best fish attractor at this location is that jetty! And signs prohibit casting over to it to get in on the great fishing it provides. It’s easy to understand the conflict between boat propellers/seals and fishing line. No questions there. But when boats are not present, like in this great video, it seems like they need to modify their thinking on the rules overreach. A sign prohibiting fishing when boats are present would be what is needed. Just sayin… Your Mom usually puts it to you when you bring her along… We’re you holding back? Always good to see you two fishing together! Thanx!
