It's nice to go catching every once in a while.
You are by FAR the most humble and relatable fisherman in the GS/OB area. Always great videos without the fluff that others use. Keep being real my brotha!

It's funny too bc just last weekend. Me and my old man were surf fishing for pompano. He legit looks at me and says hey bud watch my rods I'm gonna go take a leak. Wasn't 5 seconds after he turned his back fully bent over rod 19 inch pompano lol
Great Video!
Cool thanks man. Dinner .
Nice video, man. I’m from the Destin area but I live in Crystal River area now. Lot of similar natural structure as in your videos. I’m doing alright fishing but might try some of your ideas on catching fish soon to target new species. I’m on a curado DC.
Hey Steven! Have you ever bled them by pushing through the skin behind the pectoral fin and busting the heart? That’s how I learned to. Also, would you be interested in fishing with some young fans in July?
Hey Steve Cali here lol actually in Grand Bay been fishing in bayou La bayte figuring it out see you soon I hope Snapper season
Really nice Reds.. Great video my friend ❤❤
Love the redfish video a lot
Only been finned once, little bullhead when I was like 8, I learned my lesson lol Thanks again man!

Got poked by a sailcat in John's Pass in Treasure Island once, that was the first time I yelled MF!! in front of my mom.. Ugh.. And I was a grown adult and I was still ashamed!! LOL
Taking catfish off the hook, I put my first two fingers under each side spike, then my thumb on its lower lip. My other hand is free to remove the hook, using a dehooker if necessary.
I miss being in the area. I used to live in bon secour. I would really love to come down for a weekend trip with you
I would like to see a bridge monster video.
hi im going fishing offshore in june i wach your videos to help me know what im doiign
My 7 yeat old loves your show. We usually come to the gulf in the fall he would love to leet you
First again!!! Love you, Stephen! God Bless!
Great Video! Would you consider in one of your videos teaching us the best way to clean our reels and rods and other things you use? The few times I have been able to go saltwater fishing, my equipment gets salted up and I end up having to trash some of it. Thank you in advance!
@BamaSaltwater

Thanks and definitely !! My number one suggestion on saltwater gear is purchase high quality saltwater rated reels/rods and spray them down with fresh water every time! Ill make a video one day with my arsenal
Freshwater cats don't tickle either trust me I know 😢😂

If you fish for enough years you'll get finned. The little ones with the needle sharp fins are pretty bad
i have been to that tackle shop in gulf shores i got a bait sock and a crab pot
I thought your momma owns hooked up? Always super nice folks in there with lots of good stuff!

If you ever need a fishing buddy in the area, hit me up. Im taking my kayaks out with a buddy on sunday to target reds, specs and flounder
It's a little out of your way here in South bama but fishermans discount on 98 has live shrimp ALL THE TIME! Just another option for ya

What is spiked and gilled?? Thanks
Would you use your redfish rigs below the popping corks or is it better to just tie on the leader and hook?
@BamaSaltwater
19 күн бұрын
Nope, those are for bottom fishing and casting. The cork just needs a basic leader, hook, and split shot weight
Where can you catch live bait in the gulf shores area with a cast net??
When you decide to fish with a baitcaster over spinning, why? I use both I just wanna know why you specifically choose one over the other
Love your videos. Do have a question. What happened to your right forearm? Noticed it in your video today. We need to plan a trip in my and your area one day. Do an Army / Navy fishing challenge. God Bless and keep up the good content.

I will be in Florida (Clearwater) from the UK at the start of June and really want to try some fresh gulf fish. Any recommendations from what is in season and any places to go try some? I assume I won't be able to fish for my own..?

Your best bet and advice I give to anyone, is once you arrive in town, find the local tackle shop and ask for what's biting and what you need. The good ones are always willing to help!

Love the great vids Steven! I have a question though. You do a great job bringing home fresh seafood for the family, but what do find is the best bait to use when Momma wants cheeseburgers for dinner? 😅 With a brotherly hug!
I bought a couple of your pompano rigs and have been using them for catfish and carp in fresh water lakes. They've been working very well so far! Love your videos brother! God bless y'all!!

Maybe im not using the popping cork right. I never catch anything with them.
@BamaSaltwater

Key to it, is first, be where the fish are, and second, do not over work it!
What rod are you using? What strength and action? Looking for a nice live bait popping cork rod.
@BamaSaltwater
19 күн бұрын
Crowder E-Series Medium Heavy Fast Action. Personally though, my absolute favorite live bait/popping cork rod was the original Shimano Teramar's 7'4" Medium Power Moderate Action.
@ 8:06 you think getting fined by a hard head catfish sting a little...lol, 😁 I get it I know you are joking. I have used that method to hold hard head's before. Here is something to ponder, Hard heads and gaft top both swim in large schools, so they inadvertently will fin each other. You know that fish snot that or slime that is on the those fish when you catch them, it is their medical protection. This sounds nasty, but if you ever get fined by a hard head, you immediately rub some of that snot in to the wound, the pain will go a way. The next thing you can do after rubbing in the fish snot is to slam down a beer or two that will help too.
Have you tried coming too Boca grande to catch tarpon

Buddy no disrespect you getting healthy, you were in the army you know what I mean. I’m glad for it enjoy your life and keep on fishing .
Thanks, Steve for another great fishing trip. You are very lucky to be near the gulf so that you can fish saltwater. I'm in Michigan - we have the inland seas, the Great Lakes, but it's not saltwater fishing.
I caught a 700 pound bluegill in that same spot yesterday on light tackle ❤nice catch Jon!
FROZEN SHRIMP IS CHEAPER AT GROCERY STORE
love your videos. I would like to learn about spike and bleed or (gill) them ? I like that you offer advice. I like the back country as I get sea sick if its more that 1 to 2 feet. I dont really know too many good back country fishing in Miami. I got outside sometimes when its not to rough.
