Got those guides on a St Croix Legend Inshore that’s at least 15 years old. They work great!

I just broke the bottom guide on my favorite rod, going to try my luck at repairing it today. Pulling it in and out of rod holders on the drift boat made it brittle and snapped off

I’ve never had a guide break on me. Only the ceramic inlay but not the guide itself. How do y’all treat your rods for that to happen??

If you use braid don’t get recoil guides, it’s loud asf

What are the guides made from? Is it Titanium? I for one would definitely spend the extra money for those type of malleable guides. It’s the same mentality when I buy popping corks, those Bomber titanium ones cost 3-4x as much as a knockoff Cajun Thunder, but they last about a lifetime holding their shape compared to a few years with the others. Quality over quantity first. Personally I’ve been using and love my Ugly Stik Carbon rods for a few years and they come with a 7 year warranty, so I’m covered on guides for a bit. When they’re like $80 I get my money’s worth over 7 years. I grew up using other Stik’s for bass fishing and with these new one’s as a primary inshore rod paired with my Penn Slammer I couldn’t be happier when I’m working Reds on the flats and pullin in lunker largemouth on the lake.

You lose power with flexible guides. Trust me on that one. Thats fine for anything under 4lbs or so.
