Seeing those overcast skies and slightly windy weather I would have started right away with a big noisy topwater probably a spook. Those conditions looked amazing
Dude loved the video. I fish thst canal also, lots of great small pond spots around there over on the other side of the bridge forward the beach. There’s also a lake that’s brackish water at Carolina beach that has bass and big red drum in it.
