Man, I understand Ryan's pain when an unexpected boat problem pops up at the beginning of a big fishing trip. Glad that was left in the edit, because it's easy to forget that the fish don't care if you have a little water leaking into your boat (or whatever the annoying issue is)! That river looks awesome. I used to fish like that when I lived in Missouri. Never caught a flathead but lots of channel rats and bullheads.

Got caught in a downpour in my DIY kayak the other day, that's not a lot of water in a boat. Fortunately, it's made from a solid foam sailboat shell, you could fill it to the brim and it won't sink. Also got a couple of cats last night, they will be a tasty dinner.

great video spencer always enjoy the vids i finally got out on the red river at my grandpas house fished at selkirk for whatever caught some greenbacks sauger drum and then we went home and i went aone down to the river fished for about 5 hours into the evening was gonna fish the night but kinda sketchy in winnipeg caught two small chanels one on worms the other on goldeye so i was happy with it

Why am I watching your videos's at 4:30 am... Ohh yeahh, I'm trying to wake up for day two of driving and chasing trout in north Colorado! It's a balmy 50 degrees currently and I'll be fishing just ahead of some potential violent storms, the bit's gonna be strong today fellers! Spencer, you ever used cut up suckers as cat bait? I've located a bunch of bluehead suckers here at the catfisherman in me really, really wants to take a few to use for cut bait on a later trip targeting lake trout and cats.

I got a big bite about 3 AM at Hoover dam. I forgot all about the pole holder I ripped every screw out and the pool holder went in the water and I missed the fish

Some times it’s just hard for me to kill the flathead anymore and there my favorite to eat out of the whisker clan the last four that I caught in the 20 to 35 range were turned loose in a flood control lake in a gated community along with another eight from the three to ten pound range they should do well it’s on a cedar canyon I’m sure the board committee would be thrilled if they new I done that 😂😂😂😂

Great vid bud...Dont feel bad.. If you have spent any time on a boat its happened to you too.. Just this winter I had my jon boat out, just about like the one your in with the same motor.. I was squirrel hunting out of it and deer scouting. Killed a couple then it fired right up as normal(I took really good care of that motor), ran up the lake like 5 minutes and BAM! she dropped a ring and blew up... Not only was I out a motor but stuck in the middle of nowhere with no service... Just so happen a guy ran by me a little while later and towed me back.... Im now in the middle of ordering parts for a mud motor and fishing out of the same boat but with a trolling motor as my only means of go juice,LMAO... At least within a month Ill be back to tearing it up with 6.5 HP of hellfire🤣

Mainly a uni knot for mono. Palomar for braid.
