Can’t agree more with the mean striped fish being the most fun to catch. Big or small, I love em. Smallmouth would have to be a close second though, simply because they’re hard fighters, also few and far between for me where I fish. Good stuff!

SOMETIMES WHEN YOU CLEAN FISH,USE THE HEADS FOR BAIT FOR CATFISH

I keep a fly on a light spinning rod with 4lb line. I can fling it 6-10’ off my kayak, going left side to right side pulling a foot of drag by hand each time, and usually get Bluegill bait quickly that way.

I like it when you target stripey fish of all sizes. Some of my best fishing days have been on white bass. easily the most fish in a day I've ever caught. Tons of fun on a light setup. I'm glad you include fishing for bait as well as fishing for giants.

You know why we call them Sand Bass in Texas, because we catch them on sandy wind blown points spring to fall by the bazillion. Try 1/4, or 1/2 oz rattle traps in chrome with either black or blue backs. If you're catching dings, then let in sink little longer and typically the bigger sand bass or hybrids of larger size will be lurking below the youngsters. Waiting for what the little ones stunned, and sink below the active juveniles

About 5 years ago ,I was catching hybrids in my local river ,but they seemed to move on. I really miss them ,some were pretty good size.

They are called "stripe" here in the Tennessee valley. Love striped fish! And hybrids are called hybrids. Go figure
