We appreciate the line laboratory taking the time to review our braids. Our break strength rating on the box is an average across many batches of lines being produced. Due to raw materials being influenced by in consistency some batches can be slightly under the average break while some can come slightly over , 1lb under is definitely a good result in consistency. Our diameter testing is based on true spool capacity which shows clearly a full 400m of line fills the 3000 size daiwa spool while other claimed PE 1 braids can hardly fill 300m hens the low diameter of 0.12m Tight Lines to all and big thanks to Tim for putting this channel together.

Thanks for working with me on this test, it is much appreciated. You have certainly created a beautiful premium braid. Looking forward to putting this line through its paces once the weather and fishing warms back up.

Hello - what are the US equivalent lb test for your line? I am comparing to Kizuna, and wanted to ask. 60 foot of water jigging with Calcutta 300MD so diameter is important to me, man made reefs so some sharp edges (unless you'd say go to a bigger reel like the 400).

@@wardman7655 Hi mate, the line in the video PE 1 is rated 20lb at 0.12mm the reel you mentioned by Japanese websites give 0.365mm(JP20lb, US17)-160m(180yds) giving this information I would believe your reel will take 400m PE 1 330m PE 1.5 and 300m of PE 2 , fishing 60ft of water I would say go with PE 1.5 or PE 2 as you should be better of with higher power then line capacity. I would go with 1.5 on that reel, the drag on that reel is pretty low… so no pint in going any thicker. Cheers

Hi so is the abrasion resistance in line with what you designed? Because Im presuming your bigger lines are aimed at GT fishing and we all know that GT and rocks go hand in glove

@@RealMenReel the line characteristics follow through to all sizes, the abrasion resistance defiantly plays a great roll on the bigger reef species, low diameter along with high tensile breaking strength will give you a high performance line, add to that abrasion resistance and you have an excellent braid at hand.
I really appreciate your videos. Thank you for attempting to be a voice for the consumer.

Thanks Chuck - appreciate it 👍
Amazed from the results by the lab. And from my experience I am using this line and never put me down - cast far distance with high LBs and small diameters👍👍👍.
I saw many anglers using this line I’m using it As a fishing guide in southern oman I highly recommend this line I could say it’s the best line ever in casting distance and in high drag for gt and tuna

Thanks for the feedback. I love hearing reports from real world use cases, your comments definitely match up with what I am seeing in the bench tests.
Thanks for all the details!
Wow thats amazing, i have been using this braid for couple of years and never put me down 🤙 keep going guys

Agreed! Full credit to the Ocean Devil team.
Great video! I love what you’re doing here. It doesn’t surprise me that Silk Ocean did well. I switched over to it a couple years ago and haven’t looked back since! Over time I’ve decided switched all my reels over to it. I use the PE 0.6 up to PE10. Majority of the consistent use for me sits within the PE2.0-6.0 range . I don’t have the machine to test the braid like you but I can most certainly stand behind them with field testing. They do exceptionally well from my experience thus far. Thanks again for the great break down and testing. You got a new subscriber, sir! 😎

Рад, что ты нашел это полезным! (надеюсь мой перевод сработал) :)
Great testing, would love to see the new Saltiga 8 Durasensor on here, havn't had much luck on that line myself. Seems to fray easily and bust off

Very interesting, Daiwa generally make pretty solid line so I will see if I can find some to test out.
Would you please check daiwa evo tournament 0.14 mm
Wish I saw this sooner, very disappointed in the line diameter of claimed vs actual....thats the whole reason I purchased this line. It makes a huge difference (or would have) on the jigging I was going to do with it....
Braid manufacture must be a black art ! How does a braid at 150% of diameter come in just under bs? Maybe down to how OD assign the diameter .. based on spool capacity alone? that seems a novel approach. A pic of each line tested loaded to the same size spool would be an interesting addition to your testing regime, line availability permitting.

I don't disagree, its very hard to sometimes understand the rational behind the ratings each manufacturer gives each line, as 2 lines that are vastly different can be given similar ratings, and others that are worlds apart are identical if you believe what's on the box. The best I can do is to test each one in the same way each time and have a set of numbers that are comparable to each other.
Hi, I just watch another video and in the results chart it showed you did a test on Silk Ocean PE3. Was wondering if you did a video if so can you post it or if you can post the results. I just purchased some and want to know how it tested. Thanks.

We have tested it but have not posted a video on it as yet, however you can see the results here in the "summary of tested braids" table: linelaboratory.com/braid-summary/
Hi man,you have a new subscriber , amazing and real videos about the fishing lines....you help a lot a very much fisherman's,if you can get the premium lines for the real taste....why????for the people who wants the best or nothing...... thanks a lot
What is the FG Knot test telling us? Is it general strength of the line when stacked against itself? Surprising to me the results there...is it usually almost identical to abrasion resistance?

This just tells us how much load the braid can take when tied into a typical knot. Rarely does anyone use straight braid without a leader, so there has to be a join somewhere, usually a knot. if you have a knot then the overall capacity of the line is reduced, so this test tells us by how much.
