I just did the same thing today. Just fishing for fun along the banks of Pickwick Lake and hammering spotted bass and hooking the occasionally slab crappie. An older gentlemen and his wife were sitting just a couple yards away and they were obviously fishing for crappie with a jig and bobber set up and weren't getting much action. I pretty much loaded up their bucket. The man told me his wife just got out of the hospital and this was the first day she could get out and enjoy the beautiful weather that we've been having in North Alabama and she was craving crappie. They both thanked me and whenever I caught another and just walked over to their bucket and plunked them in. Ended up giving them seven 13+ inch slabs and he caught several himself. It was a good day.

I love crappie andd Catfish, but once I start catching Bass, I end up forgetting all about them. And the only things that pull me away from bass are Tuna, Salmon on fly and Muskie. I’ll leave my wife alone on her birthday for a good day of muskie! 😂 Ok, I Probably wouldn’t, but it would eat at me. Man, I’m excited for Tuna guiding season. We’re already completely booked, two boats, 70 days, not a single opening. Both Outrage 35’s are rigged and ready. Then theres the fall/Early Winter tournament Marlin season

Doubt you’ll see this but the crappie you threw back looked like it had what they call ick it’s just on the skin you can scratch it off with a nail it’s completely safe just a surface bacteria crappie are more common to have it than anything else and seems more regular in Texas also I’m sure you know about it just thought I’d put it out there everyone’s different I wouldn’t keep it personally either if I knew I could catch more like you 😂 but it is completely safe if it’s ick
