This is competitive surfing… one of the best contest I have watched in the last 3 years. This contest proved how entertaining surfing can be when there is a large pool of surfers surfing in good conditions. On both the men’s and women’s side the cream of the crop rose and won. The CS seems to have way more spirit and emotional intent than the CT these days. Everything about this contest was better than any CT comp I have watched this year. Weather it be watching the competitors or watching insane heritage heats go down with all the goats of our sport. This contest should be a testament of what surf entertainment should strive for. :)

Ronnie, Kelly won all his events in the WCT era, not the old 24-30 contests a year era. This is why 55 is absolutely incredible. It’s Tom Curren who has so many championship wins because of that old schedule, still an awesome achievement but can’t compare to Slaters WCT titles.

Ballsy move by Fisher to ride that thing. He cocked up a couple of rides, but pumped it hard when he needed to. Great to see people just dicking around and having fun in the surf. The big question we all have though: which wax did he use? Was it Mr Zoggs, or Mrs Palmers?

He’s doing a big set tomorrow on cooloongatta beach for the bleach festival, he’s local and a ex pro surfer it’s all part of the festival down there, it was bloody awesome
