And the same to you Derek. Yes the Anostomus are still doing well it’s just a pity that I haven’t a spare tank to do them justice.

Great looking fishroom! I haven't seen UK-bred dwarf gourami for ages, most of them in fish stores are low-quality Asian farm bred fish. I'd love to get some of those rio Nanay juveniles if you will be selling them later

I bought the dwarf gouramis because of two reasons: first I’m not a fan of the current ‘new’ developed strains a much prefer the wild form and secondly, they looked to be healthy specimens in the LFS. I believe they came from a well-known wholesaler in Holland. Regarding the Rio Nanay, send me a pm on Facebook Messenger (I’m on Facebook as Paul Thompson). If you’re not on Facebook let me know and I’ll put my email address in the KZread comments.

Love your fishroom can I be cheeky and ask how much the electric usage cost is many thanks

To be honest not that much as the room is heavily insulated and space heated on a separate (controllable) zone from my central heating system. I do however, need to replace the old fluorescent lighting over the tanks with LED lighting to reduce electricity costs still further…

Hi Paul, have you tried spawning the Red Cherry Tetras again? I find they need a couple of weeks break between spawns. Also, I had better success with a group of 6 in a 10 gallon tank half full with java moss. I am curious to hear (read) about your experience with these.

Thanks for the information. No I haven’t tried the Red Cherries again - I only had a trio, 1 male and 2 females, to start with and lost one of the females. What were your water parameters and hatch rate?

@PaulsFishroom we have glacier water here in Portland, Oregon, US. So the tap water is pretty close to rain water or RO water. PH comes out at 7.2, but after 24hrs of aging and aeration it goes down to 6.8. I keep them at 76F and spawn them at 78F. I don't know the hatch rate because when I use a grid, they don't seem to spawn. Very weird. But when they are in a bare bottom 10 gallon tank, with matten filter, half full of Java moss, I leave them there for a week, then remove all adults and wait. That usually results in 150 to 200 fry.

@@regisand great results. I use RO water as my tap water is awful! pH is 7.8, GH 6 and KH 2 but the water supplier also puts additives in it of heaven knows what…
