Fish Creek Colorado
Upper/Lower - 750/800?cfs
ReactR M
Ride higher and drier in rapids, scream into eddies faster than ever, and find your line without any limitations. The ReactR is Pyranha's most innovative design yet, and opens new doors within the world of creek and river running for kayakers of all abilities.
In the design of the ReactR, Pyranha have spent significant time developing an entirely new style of hull, with a perfectly positioned pivot point and two planning surfaces, one in front and another behind, which the paddler can switch between with ease. This means the boat is stable both when landing a drop on the bow and when planning out of features on the tail. You want that skip, and Pyranha have delivered.
This isn't just a kayak - it's a statement about Pyranha's commitment to leading the charge and progressing the sport through design innovation. The ReactR’s development tore up the rulebook on creek boat design and rewrote it - embrace the new era of whitewater kayaking!

Puton and take off
I used to run Fish Creek all the time with my sister back in the 1970's and '80's , but have not been back in a very long time. When we were running it there were not golf courses or houses along it, and most of the foot bridges and some of the bridges for cars were not there yet. We would run all the way down to the Yampa river, run the gates on the river a few times, then go on down to a place that may not even be there anymore called the Steamboat Yacht Club where we'd grab some food and drinks along with other kayakers who were running the river. I don't know if the gates are even there anymore. They were upstream on the Yampa from a little park called Dr.

That’s the C Hole on the Yampa I actually paddled all the way down from the fish
So fast, so long. Great instinctive paddling Wade. That’d scare the b’jeezus outta me.

Yeah it was busy and I had only done that run once but not at this level
I can see how a tree could be disastrous at this level..that's some wild fast river paddling..Wow! Nice to see how all that rocker on that bow looked in action too!

ReactR looks great in big water. Do you think you’ll do a review of the large to compare to the medium?
@WadeHarrison
Ай бұрын
I know a couple people that have the Large I will try to link up and see the difference
Let’s go!

That run is full on! Nice dry bow on the ReactR. Was it just you giving some space between you or was the Waka faster? Your buddy seemed to pull ahead of you real quick with very few strokes.

At this level I wanted to keep about 30yards between us just in case a big hole or tree I could “ReactR” and change directions Marty is a fast boater that’s got 1000 laps out there this was actually the first lap of the year it’s been so high he could not find anyone to go with him down the upper we were doing a tree sweeper lap
Your paddling this when I just wish I could feel safe enough to make it down the nantahala smh😂

A swim here would be no bueno, I’m guessing it would last for miles if you came out of your boat cause I didn’t see a single eddy to swim to or anything to even grab on to, not that you would be able to with the way that current was flowing.
@WadeHarrison

Oh for sure a swim could be really bad in some spots out there
Very sick!!!!!!!$$$$

Hi Wade... excellent video... Which kayak do you think is better for class 5, Pyranha Scorch or the Reactr? Stability, steering, maneuverability, surfability
@WadeHarrison
Ай бұрын
REactR but the scorch still is awesome kayak
Wade, how does the Reactr paddle in comparison to the Scorch. Is it as confidence inspiring as the Scorch?
@WadeHarrison
27 күн бұрын
I will do a comparison at some point
Wade how are you liking the new Pyranaha Reactor? Seems like a totally solid kayak..

Isn't it difficult to jump into a demo boat on a stout run without much practice in it? If you could have had access to an Indra, would you have preferred it over the ReactR?
@WadeHarrison
Ай бұрын
I feel either would be fine at this level but i paddled early that day and didn’t have the Indra with me
