Boulder Creek, South - 180cfs?
Eldorado Canyon Section
River Description "American Whitewater"
Flowing through the foothills southwest of Boulder in Eldorado Canyon, this Class Five mankfest is a jewel in the Colorado State Parks system.
This means you must pay $10 per vehicle to get in. If you are running the section above Eldo Canyon tell the ranger at the toll booth that you are running a shuttle and parking only one vehicle, they normally will allow you to pay for only one vehicle. If you are only running Eldo you will have to pay for every vehicle your party brings in.
Lower South Boulder Creek is very unique. The last mile of whitewater before the creek hits the dismal flatwater of the plains is as steep and continuous as the gnarliest stuff many miles upstream. That being said, this is one of the most challenging creek runs in the area, and it has the advantage of being roadside. The run is 10 minutes from downtown Boulder and 30 to 45 minutes from most of the Denver area.
Early in the spring this run has water before most others, and when the other creek runs in the area have enough water Eldo has too much.
Flows from 100-150 CFS are ideal, above that it starts getting pushy real quickly.
History has brought lots of swims, injuries, broken and/or lost gear above 150 CFS, you will see why.
ReactR M
Ride higher and drier in rapids, scream into eddies faster than ever, and find your line without any limitations. The ReactR is Pyranha's most innovative design yet, and opens new doors within the world of creek and river running for kayakers of all abilities.
In the design of the ReactR, Pyranha have spent significant time developing an entirely new style of hull, with a perfectly positioned pivot point and two planning surfaces, one in front and another behind, which the paddler can switch between with ease. This means the boat is stable both when landing a drop on the bow and when planning out of features on the tail. You want that skip, and Pyranha have delivered.
This isn't just a kayak - it's a statement about Pyranha's commitment to leading the charge and progressing the sport through design innovation. The ReactR’s development tore up the rulebook on creek boat design and rewrote it - embrace the new era of whitewater kayaking!

@@WadeHarrison Ok, ran the Cispus ( I'm in WA state)yesterday in the ReactR... and I'm completely blown away! 6'2" 185lb- I fit like a glove and feel like the boat performs at the top of its ability with my size beater in it. Been paddling since 98' and this is the best river running hull Ive ever been in.

@@WadeHarrison not goretex? I’ve been looking at the NRS options but always tell myself I need goretex. Maybe I don’t. I have a chest zip now and haven’t ever had the shoulder entry. Do you like it better?
