So adorable. I just got a 2 yr old Leonburger so he’s like a teenager. I wish I got him as a puppy. But he acts like a giant puppy. Very smart gentle calm well behaved. So I’m extactic!!!! He’s so easy to walk a 2 yr old could walk him. “ Samson “🐶🥰❤️❤️💯

I am happy for you and your new Leonberger. When we got our second Leongerger she was a bit older. I was a little sad that we missed the smaller puppy stage. (Well, they are never really small puppies, LOL. ) But in the end it didn't matter. You named your's Samson? I love that name for a big dog. Before we had our Leonbergers we had Bernese Mountain Dogs. I loved them so much! We named our male dog Samson. The name was fitting.

Beautiful dog. I just bought one the other day and she's a good puppy with the exception that she likes to chew anything but her toys and that's only 7 weeks old...

Did you get a Leonberger? We just got another a couple of weeks ago, but she was already 3 1/2 months old. Puppies are so much fun, but also so much work. Have fun with your pup.

7 weeks old ??? what moron sold you a dog at 7 weeks old ???? 12 weeks, never take a puppy until it is at least 12 weeks old...

He looks like such a cuddly teddybear, I'm so jealous!

He is all grown up now. He did not stay that size for long. I am glad we got him as a puppy and were able to enjoy that cuteness, if only for a short time.

We just brought home our puppy Leonberger. This is my second Leo, but first puppy. The biting is crazy, but he’s a great pup otherwise. Our two other dogs help a lot too.

That is wonderful! Leo pups are smart and will learn a lot from you other dogs...both good and bad, lol. Have fun with your puppy. They grow up so fast. We have two leos now. Wilder is two and then Natty who is almost a year old.

Breeders are so hard to find, eh? There are a few facebook groups for Leonbergers. That is where I started. Best to you in your search, they are amazing dogs.

12 weeks people, not 8 weeks.... anyone offering to give/sell you a dog before 12 weeks old, does NOT know what they are doing....they need the last 4 weeks to learn social skills and they can only learn those with their pack, taking a puppy at 8 weeks will lead to behavioral problems later in life. Thats the way it was for thousands of years before me, and it should still be the same now... 3 to 4 months old is the ideal time to get a puppy, if you work all day and no one is home, dont get a dog, get a cat.... dog are pack animals, being stuck in a crate 8 or more hours a day is cruel, it is bad for their health, they need to be around people or other animals, even if they are sleeping....

You really need to pay attention to the video. Also, it's not something thats been going on for thousands of years because, to start with, no vets to verify age, knowledge of dog psychology and development wasn't a thing, and secondly, it depends on the person. I've had puppies from as early as 40 days and had no behavioural issues with my dogs and I've never used a crate in any way, shape or form. Socialisation, training and dedication is what is needed as well as tons of love, patience and responsibility. It seems as though you have never actually raised a dog
